Nicknames That Reflect the State You Live In

I'm not trying to be vain here. I am just curious.

Today I was contacted by Dakota Jim about his dropping off a TB on his way past my town. That got me wondering about how many other geocachers use their first or last name along with something that ties them to a particular state in the Union. I was once contacted by Indiana Bill too but now I cannot locate his name in the system.

The reason that I chose the nickname I did for geocaching is because when I first started writing to an astronomy forum several years ago I needed to differentiate myself from the other Toms in the group. I signed off as, Tom Iowa USA. The nickname I chose for geocaching evolved from that. The seven letters that I use fit also perfectly in a vanity license plate.

RedSky refers to the beautiful southern Arizona sunsets. The Aussies in my avatar are RedSky at Night Shal's Delight (Shiloh) and RedSky Dark and Stormy Night (Storm). (Moose & Patches don't have fancy RedSky names but are RedSky Aussies just the same)

I, obviously, am from the state of Sion. Don't tell me you've never heard of it! I'm actually a Sionevite, but I thought Sioneva would be easier on y'all.

I live in Minnetonka, the original home of Tonka toys. The school uses "Tonka Pride" and "Tonka Cares" as slogans so the term is synonymous with the school. Tonka is just a shortened verson. Anyways around here there is also:

Minne-apolis

Minne-sota

TonkaJen

From Tonka Sota, never did live in Apolis.

Nope. That never occurred to me. But I go back to Bulletin Board handles. I've been Harry Dolphin for 20 years (?)

And can you guess who my favorite all-time comedy team is?

Actually I am originally from Wisconsin. But that was 30 years ago. Thought by using Dakota Jim I'd finally establish that I have moved to the Dakotas.

I don't use my given name but my screename should be a clue as to the state!

Just threw the name together. I didn't feel like spending any extra time coming up with yet another unique name for another online account. Besides, I love NH!

Obviously the GeoPirates doesn't have anything to do with our names, but we wanted to include Montana in our name, and we know of several cachers from Montana who use MT in their handles.

I am Zolgar the Insane.

It has everything to do with my mental state (insane), but nothing to do with my physical state.

My physical place of dwelling is Tucson Arizona, but shall become the Utopian Playland, along with the rest of the world, when Doctor Steel takes over.

I've used this name on several "boards" where I belong ... its where we live and our favorite pastime.

MD ... Maryland

Kamper ... currently in a Forest River Wildcat 5th Wheel

I made my name on a whim and had I known that I would be so in to caching, I would have done a better name possibly including Arizona.

my username is "simpjkee" which is a combination of my name Joshua Kee Simpson

My nickname has been crosswinds for years on other boards, ("crossy" for short), to explain location I added "okie" to better explain my location....and more typically why crosswinds was relevant ((Central Plains area))

On another forum, there were many members with my first name. My favorite color is peach and I live in PA, so that was how I named myself for that forum. Like others, had I known I'd be doing this for years, I'd have come up with something more interesting. :o

Nope, however...

Girlfriend and I are retired Corrections Officers from Central Florida Reception Center in Orlando, Florida.

You've heard of Disney World, the Magic Kingdom?

We're Prison World, the Tragic Kingdom.

Come down on vacation, go home on probation, come back on violation.

hehehe

escondido was not chosen for the calif city of that name but rather the fact that it is spanish for "hidden" and the 100 was my initial goal of finds.....it seemed like a lot at the time.....maybe i should now use it for how many hides i should do....probably not though.
