Just another Norwegian Geocaching forum dead..

First of we had a nice time on forum.kart.no and after som arguing there people moved to starte.no another Norwegian geocaching forum. I followed the crowd and went to starte.no myself.

 

A week ago suddely the start.no forum was gone to. Now we have gcinfo.no forum.

 

But this time I'm not moving after. I going to stay here at forum.Groundspeak.com.

 

My only hope for the future is that we got our own Norwegian speaking part in this forum as I and others have asked for before.

 

I hope other will follow me and come to this forum instead.

As mentioned earlier please feel yourself at home and use Norwegian as much as you like. You probably will get your own section here as soon as Groundspeak will change to new forum software until then you must bare us.

To quote (sorry its in Norwegian, but I hope FONIX gets the point that Dag-Asle, the owner of starte.no, actually is happy that gcinfo.no took over when he no longer had the time and energy to keep starte.no running):

Da jeg startet Starte.no, var Asle's Utsiden.no/Geocaching.no de stedene som en kunne henvende seg i denne hobbyen. En bråkjekk kommentar fra meg om at Starte.no skulle bli det største, ikke kommersielle, nettstedet for Geocaching i Norge, og en heller amper krangel med vår kjære Asle, førte til Starte.no :-) Starte.no ble det største nettstedet, og Asle og jeg er heldigvis på talefot :-)

 

Noen vil ha det til at jeg er "snurt" og lite hjelpsom ovenfor http://www.gcinfo.no, men det er snarere tvert om. Jeg ser på gcinfo.no som en liten reddende engel, som gjør at jeg ikke "tar livet av" hele sporten/hobbyen selv om jeg legger ned Starte.no (om dere skjønner hva jeg mener) Så til dere som startet gcinfo.no; Lykke til! Og takk! (En link e.l. vil nok komme på plass, så snart jeg får kommet meg hjem fra "påske-fjellet")

We have now created an non-profit, free for all organization that owns the domain and the web-site and there are many people who look after it. We have done this in the hope that we will not get into the position of a "single point of failure" so that the site will survive even when people have to move on to other things than running our faviourite geocaching site for Norway.

 

You are welcome to join FONIX! as is everyone else.
