eTrex Legend HCx

Looking to upgrade from the old yellow eTrex to a Legend HCx. Can someone lead me to the least expensive (but reputable) place to purchase on the internet? Can it be purchased already bundled with a mapping program that provides turn by turn routing?

Same, I just bought one from Amazon.com for $195 and I bought a 1GB microSD card from there for like $9.

 

We chose three-day shipping because we wanted to use it for our trip to San Antonio this weekend, but if you choose the regular shipping then you don't have to pay for it.

I got a Vista HCx from TheNerds.net for a good price, and it arrived three days after I ordered it.

I also got mine from Amazon for less than $200. Paid another $11 for the case to carry it on my belt. If they lower the price within 30 days they will refund you the difference, which is nice security.

Got the free shipping, cause I wasn't in a rush to get it.

 

Recommend you get the case for it. I didn't, and wound up getting it locally for more. (I scratched the screen a little in my car, so wanted to get one before I did more damage)

 

Also get a 2GB MicroSD card, either from Amazon or locally (I got a Sans from Costco for about $20, so was good to go).

I also bought that very model from Amazon, along with a 1GB microSD card and Topo 2008 all at once for around $280. I waited and monitored the price for 8 weeks until I saw the price drop under $200 for the Legend HCx before buying.

 

You will see more than one vendor show up in an Amazon search, many with a lower unit price, but with a shipping price added on that brings the cost back up to the Amazon direct price with the free shipping option. I have bought many items like this directly from Amazon in the past and always have been happy with each transaction. As for buying from the other listed vendors, well then it's kind of like picking somebody to buy from on ebay. You never are quite sure if you found a good guy to buy from.

I ordered mine from Wal-Mart.com as well for $194.49 plus $9.47 for shipping to an APO address. Took 7 days to reach me in the middle of Iraq. Wished I would have got the case and memory for it as well, but luckily I have a couple of 256 and 512 micoSD cards here I could plug in and use.

Very cool. Are there any decent maps availabe for the region to load?
