ssgeo83
I've read on Garmin's website that the reviewers are volunteers that are chosen and that they have hidden at least a dozen caches, etc. Are the reviewers local? If so, how do I find out who the reviewer is/are in my area? Quote Link to comment

If so, how do I find out who the reviewer is/are in my area? Pretty sure the only way you will find out your local reviewers is word of mouth. There are 2 or 3 that I always see review and post my caches locally. There is a topic that mentions the cache reviewers in the getting started FAQ's. Quote Link to comment
ssgeo83
I just found a way to find out (found it accidentally). I looked at two caches locally and I clicked to view all the logs on one page. The very first log of each always said "Published on __/__/____ at __ AM EST." I clicked on the user's name and the individual's profile showed that he/she was a reviewer. However this person is not local. He/she is in the next state, probably a few hours away. +ZSandmann
All states don't have a dedicated reviewer. It depends on how active your area is. When I lived in Colorado we had two or three reviewers that seemed to cover the Front Range. Now in Louisiana we have 1 (MtnMan) who is out-of-state and occasionally we have guest reviewers So the way you looked for reviewers is the easiest way to find out who is reviewing your area. And be mindful that many reviewers have seperate accounts that they use for caching, so don't think the stats on the reviewer account are the persons real stats. Although in some cases they are. Have I confused you yet? Quote Link to comment

"Local" will vary by area...some areas have one, two or three reviewers (or more)...depends on how active the area is with cachers. As you found...some reviewers cover a wide range and others may not be as spread out... Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Our local reviewer covers 3 states (I think) Nebraska and both Dakota's. All depends on the needs of the area and the frequency of new hides. They use some very good tools to help make sure that the cache falls within the guidelines. However, personal knowledge of the area is not required. Quote Link to comment
