+desertpeach
I have just started geocaching...great hobby...lots of fun! I have an Magellan explorist 300 gps. I am entering all of my coordinates...which is taking some time...also printing out extra info that I might need. I think that downloading my waypoints would save me some time. Members who have been geocaching for a while, which GPS unit do you recommend? What are you using now that you are very pleased with its performance? Looking for something under $300. Thanks for your input and help. Desert Peach Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
For under $300 I'd go with a Garmin Legend HCX. Quote Link to comment

If you do your research on Garmin's website you can easily choose the GPS you want, then go buy it from a local hobby store or online from a GPS retailer... If you don't know any of the GPS "lingo" or are unsure about any of the stated features, just chime back in here and we will all do our best to help you out! Quote Link to comment
+clevek
I just googled the GARMIN GPSMAP 60CSX HANDHELD GPS UNIT, it is on sale for $279.00 at www.compuplus.com see this link if you have trouble: http://www.compuplus.com/i-Garmin-GPSMAP-6...ok079gim743yh2k From what I've been reading since November, for under $300, this unit can not be beat.
