+FamDa
As the title already states; we have an Mitac Mio 168 that is used for Tom-Tom. We now want to extend our use to Wherigo. We downloaded the zip file from Wherigo.com but I just cannot seem to get it installed. Anyone with a how-to-get-Wherigo-installed-on-my-Mitac-Mio-168-installation-guide-for-dummies? +leo en nel
Copy the zip file to folder on your PDA and run PlayerInstall on your PDA. Than you have the program available, but I was not able to get it running. It does not get a proper GPS connection. Regards, Leo Quote Link to comment
+leo en nel
You have to install Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Redistributable Package first. The link is on the download page of Wherigo as well. Leo Quote Link to comment
physwiz
Hi, I am having the same problem. I do not have a cable for my mio 168, so I am copying the PlayerInstall.CAB onto my SD card and then installing the player. I have installed the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Redistributable Package onto my computer before copying the file across, but as expected this didn't help. I have the Wherigo player application but it does not open. Any help would be appreciated. Physwiz Quote Link to comment
physwiz
I've now got it working For anyone that has the same problem. I downloaded the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Redistributable Package but did not install it. It automatically saves this as NETCFSetupv2.msi on my PC. I then extracted all the files (using WinRAR or 7-zip) and found all the files containing CAB e.g. F_NETCFv2.ppc.armv4.cab.7268F488_53D1_4565_BEEC_1251BC587315. These are then renamed to end with .cab (e.g. F_NETCFv2.ppc.armv4.cab) and transfered using the SD card onto my pocket pc. I then installed every file that was compatible. Afterwards I copied across the Wherigo installer .cab and the Wherigo player now opens, albeit very slowly. Quote Link to comment
