GPS reception on MDA Vario 3 (Kaiser PPC)

Recommended Posts

I've got Wherigo running on an MDA Vario 3 PPC using WM6 professional. After GPS detection (a long while after) the satellite bars go green. However, I never get more than one or two bars and the signal keeps dropping and the bars go red, then green for a bit, then red, etc.

If I load Memory-Map and show satellites, I've got a good signal and loads of satellites locked and the signal never drops.

Is there some fix to get the Wherigo player to get a consistent signal? Other than that it works fine.

I've got a similar reaction with a UBIQUIO, I have seen a thread somewhere about an application to download to set the GPS to work whilst walking rather than driving but I can't seem to find it just yet.

Found it on the memorymap forum HERE

Currently having the same problem (signal flashing red/green/red) on a Mio P550 running WM5.

Positional updates are very sporadic. Sometimes updating continually as I walk, other times not updating for 10 seconds at a time, occasionally locking up altogether.

Other GPS applications such as Mio Map 3, and BeelineGPS work flawlessly.

Using the same port settings in Wherigo as the other applications are using and only running one application at a time.
