Best Automotive GPS for Geocaching?

I have a Garmin Streetpilot c530. I load it up with caches from a GSAK GPX file, select favorites and off I go.

Now I am looking to replace the old 530 and get something with newer maps and text to speech. I see units from $150 to $1000. I am kind of partial to the Garmin's but maybe something else is better? Has anyone tried the Nuvi 260W?

Let me know what you are using and your likes and dislikes.

Thanks

I myself using Dopod 818 pro Garmin Mobile 10, cachemate and spoiler Sync for driving and geocaching with AQUAPAC for waterprooving. An emergency mini charger with a AA alkaline battery for charging up the PPC in cace my PPC run in low battery because I using motorbike.

You can used the PPC as a mobile device as well as outdoor GPS for hunting the cache. Used Garmin Mobile XT + cachemate + spoiler Sync. These software are fully integrated and reliable. You can see how it worked here: http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewtopi...?f=6&t=4540 and http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewtopi...;p=66096#p66096

Garmin Mobile XT give you turn by turn car navigation. Cachemate and spoiler Sync for paperless geocaching. CacheNav for hunting and serching for caches.

There are two choice:

1) PPC(wm5 or 6) with inbuild GPS. You can consider http://www.semsons.com/gamoxtforsmn.html or search from www.buygpsnow.com

2) PPC (WM5 or 6) with BT. Then you can consider http://www.semsons.com/gamo10gsofor.html or search from www.buygpsnow.com

Tos setup Garmin Mobile XT refer to here: http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.php/..._Windows_Mobile and some discussion here: http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.a...mp;whichpage=23

Happy geocaching!

I am looking at the Garmin nuvi 660 because it has 7 hour battery and it has an FM transmitter for using the car stereo to play music as well as play the directions as they are needed. There are other models with XM radio, but I just do not see the attraction if you have podcasts to listen to (still thinking on XM radio though).

The alternative Garmin nuvi 360 that has no FM transmitter, but does have audio out.

I just started geocaching using a Garmin 265W GPS.

When I get to the cache site, I go to "Pedestrian" mode, and click on "navigate off road" if it's close to the highway, to prevent the unit from trying to stay "snapped" to the road. That was frustrating for awhile until I figured it out. Seems to work fine ~ having two dedicated units would probably be better ~ but I have to use what I've got.
