MarshMonsters
What is done with the contents of an archived cache? Do the owners place the contents (if there is anything good) in a new cache or do they keep it? I was just curious. Quote Link to comment
StarBrand
All my archived caches turned up missing so nothing left to do anything with. Quote Link to comment
gof1
The cache owner can do as they wish with the contents. Usually there isn't much left worth any more than a trip to the trash heap. Quote Link to comment

Badgerdawg
Usually it's just full of garbage by the time I need to archive a cache. IF there is anything worthwhile, I will place it in a new cache or use for trade. Quote Link to comment

Harry Dolphin
The contents of the cache are the property of the cache owner, to do with as he/she sees fit. Presumbably recycled into a new cache, if appropriate. If they actually retrieved the old container (don't hold your breath). (I've been on a few TB Rescue Missions. In four of five such attempts, the cache was still in place. Abandoned and archived. One had been muggled. Four TBs rescued.) Quote Link to comment

nekom
I only have two archived caches. One was archived BECAUSE it was missing. There was active logging in the area, so unless the loggers stumbled upon it and grabbed it I suspect it's buried under bulldozer trials for somebody to find in about 100 years and wonder what the heck it was. The other is to become a new cache soon. Quote Link to comment
MarshMonsters
Thank you for your answers. I couldn't find any answers when I searched, so these really helped. It seems like the majority are archived due to damage and muggles. There are a few caches in my area that are fine but are getting archived to make more room for new caches. Quote Link to comment
