+GeoLobo
Last year, I created a Limerick Geocache here in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York. It was eventually stolen by our notorious GeoThief who romes our area, but I then created a second one. Below are the links to them both. I picked out some of my favorites and listed most of those that follow the limerick guidlines in full or for the most part. You can visit the links at the bottom of this post - for more limericks and the names of the authors. I just thought that it turned it to such a success, that i would share it with others - incase they would like to create such a cache in their areas. Happy Caching! Geocaching with Jamie and Ben can be dangerous now and again, we slip and we slide, lose small bits of our hide, and have oft poked ourselves with our pen GeoLobo had something in mind, A cache that was one-of-a-kind. In the 'rondacks I sit, Composing this limerick, Cause I hope to be First-To-Find! In the Adirondacks I'm glad to see A geocache that challenges me. Tho I'm not good with the rhyme I'll put in my time. what else is as much fun for free. Traversing a wintery scence, An icon appears on my screen, Senses now heightened, My spirit enlightened, For my query all camo'd in green. The once was a cacher named Mark Who finds caches from park to park Snowshoeing up the hill Almost took a big spill Have to get back before dark. There once was a guy fat and lazy Who sat in his lounge and got hazy He learned how to Geocache which doesn't cost much cash So now he's (getting) fit and cache crazy! There once were two boys from Lake Clear, who went caching without any fear, they roamed hither and yon, climbed tall mountains, crossed ponds, and in general were glad they live here... There once was a cacher named bluegirl Who's hometown was certainly rural. A new cache in Long Lake? How long can it take? So she thought, "I'll give it a whirl!" If You Want To Go Geo-Cache-In' Long Lake Is The Place To Cache In Fashion Take A Stroll In The Woods And Look For The Goods Then You'll Have Full-Filled Your Passion There was a Long Lake cache, that was full of good stash, that when I started to find, I fell right on my behind, and it turned out to be a pain in my ash. My name is 1IrishGirl, After last night we thought I would hurl Thanks greatly to Rob the geosliding god I decided to have just one more. There once was a cacher named barefootgal Who was looking for a geocaching pal She met Lonestarr one day From then on they did play Even though it might not always be practi-cal THERE ONCE WAS A CACHER NAMED LONESTARR WHO STOPPED IN AT THE ADIRONDACK BAR HE DRANK TOO MUCH BEER WHICH BROUGHT HIM TO HERE AND THANK GOODNESS IT WASN'T TOO FAR There once was a cacher named Mark Who loves caching in Adirondack Park Hiking through the snow Sometimes not knowing where to go He will be caching until it is dark. There once was a muggle from Long Lake who found a cache by mistake He thought it would be fun for he and his son so a new find he did make... +GeoLobo
I thought that it would be nifty, and it certainly wouldn't be shifty, Just for poetry's sake: Find a cache in Long Lake to commemorate number five-fifty! Quote Link to comment
+RussellM
If nothing else, it's cool to see a local name i recognize on the forums. In the mean time, i'll see what i can come up with in the way of poems. Quote Link to comment

Ferreter5
I sat with GeoLobo at tea. It was just as I thought it would be. His rumblings abdominal Were simply phenominal, And everyone thought it was me! By the way, that's a heck of a fun idea for a cache -- good work! Quote Link to comment

Tahosa and Sons
When I hid the Chef's Special 3 years ago, I put a small poem to guide them up the trail. After you have solved the menu, sight down the bore to see where you will go. Once you have parked, follow the old road. Soon you will find a fork in the trail, ignore the arrow and think, would Tahosa give you a nature walk or a uphill run. Swing to the left and up we go, Walk to the high sign and swing to the right. Skirt the deadfall and as you cross the draw, the appetizer will be low and to the right. Return to the high sign and follow the path, even though the arrow says go up, up, ignore it. Continue on the trail as it meanders up the hill. The approach to the salad will be from the East. Return to the trail, and search for the Yucca. Soon you will pass the Sage, who is not old or wise. When it starts to level out swing to the right, And get ready to find another part of this cache. Now you must find the bench, where you can rest. And after the bench get ready for the fight. Then its on to the view, and soon your meal will be done. Quote Link to comment
+THE_Chris
The unfortunate thing about this is that there are NO caches in Limerick in Ireland Quote Link to comment
+geosliders
We did Geolobo's Limerick cache while attending his and Bluegirls Mid-Winter Event in Long Lake, NY (which was SOOOOOO much fun - we need to do a summer one too...hint) anyway to get back on track - there were 6 of us caching that day that headed off to this one together. We had a great time laughing at each others ability (or lack there of) to come up with a rhyme of any kind. This was a great idea for a cache and gave us all a good laugh. Quote Link to comment
+Peconic Bay Sailors
There once was a girl from Nantucket... Who had a cache hidden in a bucket... When the townspeople heard where she had stuck it... She said... well you know... Quote Link to comment
+GeoLobo
Cute...but i don't think it follows the limerick guidlines <smile> - unless you are counting the vulgarity <smile> Quote Link to comment
+Trucker Lee
The unfortunate thing about this is that there are NO caches in Limerick in Ireland You'll have to take that up with the cachers living over that way. Bit far to oblige you from here, wouldn't meet the "ability to maintain" guidelines. (lol) This sort of cache is a great idea, and allows us to be challenged in just one more way. You showed creativity in placing, why not give finders the chance to show theirs? Thanks for sharing. Quote Link to comment

+Harry Dolphin
I'd delete most of them as not being Limericks. And I have done a few poetry caches... Quote Link to comment
