+planemaker
Hello from Canada! I am going on vacation for a ten days in Ireland (Dublin, Waterford, Cork, "The ring of Kerry", Shannon). While I am visiting I would like to do some caching (leaving unique Canadian TB's while I am here!), any suggestions on caches that I should not miss? If we meet on the hunt, I would love to share a Guinness too! Thanks! Planemaker Quote Link to comment
+SUp3rFM & Cruella
We have a trip to Ireland on our mind. There's a cache that we'll definitely going after: GC43 - Europe's First. Quote Link to comment
+The Other Stu
The "Mor to find" series were outstanding in Oran Mor, near Galway View to Galway Bay from Oran Mor Also, the caches up on the Burren, near Ennis are well worth a punt. We particulary enjoyed "Father Ted's Tribute Cache" Quote Link to comment

Planemaker Memorable ones around the Ring Of Kerry / Cork region; Atlantic Whirlpool The Flying Dutchman The Liberator Beacon Point There are probably some good newer ones too, but these should do nicely! Guinness is not difficult to locate along the way: try this one for a typical Irish pub. Sadly, the Tin Pub appears to have closed this month. +JustAlan
I second GC43 - Europes First. Has to be on anybody's list if they are in/near Dublin (it's a few miles south near Bray Head) Quote Link to comment
+dino-irl
I suggest you join the forum on Geocaching Ireland (see my sigline for a link). We get queries like this all the time and have been known to offer advice on itineraries, organise guided cache tours and even organise the odd event or two for visitors Quote Link to comment
+Bambography
GCNBEV - St McDuaghs Church is excellent! Quote Link to comment

+Phil100
I second GC43 - Europes First. Has to be on anybody's list if they are in/near Dublin (it's a few miles south near Bray Head) Three of us are planning a quick day trip from Newcastle to Dublin, the main objective is "Europe's First". We will have a hire car and about six hours to cache - any suggestions? Quote Link to comment
+FYI_Geocaching
When I was caching there a year ago, all I managed to come across were caches in graveyards!! Quote Link to comment
+tramyard
Slieve League (highest sea cliffs in Europe) MrsB Just to clear this post Slieve League is not the highest sea cliffs in Europe, not even in Ireland ..... but cache is worth to visit Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
Slieve League (highest sea cliffs in Europe) MrsB Just to clear this post Slieve League is not the highest sea cliffs in Europe, not even in Ireland ..... but cache is worth to visit Oh. That'll teach me to believe everything I read on the Ireland Travel site. But we'll agree that it's a great spot to visit. MrsB Quote Link to comment
+The Brat Pack
Try contacting Hywel (Eclectic Penguin), a South Wales geocacher that now lives in the Cork area. I am sure he will advise on the best caches in South West Ireland. Quote Link to comment
+DutchGeek & Lollypops
If you are going to be between Kerry (Killarney) and Cork, I'd strongly recommend GC18JYT - The Castle on the Bridge. This is easily one of my favourite all time caches. Quote Link to comment
+Didds and Bossyboots
I visited Ireland with my Mum in 2009 and this was my favourite cache,it is an unusual tree !! GC1NRKW - The Fruitless Tree. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=4e60b36f-362a-444c-ab60-71f70e48cdb4 Ireland is a very beautiful place and I hope to go back someday Quote Link to comment
batinahat
If you're flying in to Shannon and heading in the Cork direction, I can highly recommend GC1WH6T Bunratty Winery. You will be passing Bunratty Castle as you head in the dual carriage way from the airport. The pub 'Durty Nellys' is a nice place to stop for a bite to eat and the cache is a little gem - lots of international travellers passing through as well so it's a busy one. Another nice one is GC30K3J The Great Golf Ball, it's a handy little multi and the view from the top is awesome - the Shannon estuary and Limerick City. Those are two of the three caches I've done so I'm not very experienced but I think they're worth a stop on your way Have a great time! Quote Link to comment
