If you click on a cache, then view Other Caches Nearby, each page has 20 caches on it. So, by the end of page 10, you are 200 caches away.

It's Spitting once said that Rivington was the caching epicentre, jokingly, but is it true?

From the Rivington Pike cache, there are 248 caches within 5 miles, and 654 within 10 miles. :blink:

What are the UK 5 and 10 mile records?

If someone has a full UK GSAK database, the program called "cachecluster" (or similar) should be able to do that.

It's not quite so much fun since TheHoomer removed all the Route Canal series....

I never did get past the first one of those (the towpath was flooded the day I went!)

16km of Oxford = 323

...of Bracknell (which I've always thought of as rather cache-rich) = 304

Even London (16km of Charing Cross) is only 572.

So Rivington Pike is some cache cluster :blink:

I bet the N Wales Coast is bloomin dense.... That Team Marzipan are chuckin them out at a rate of knots!!!

I'm gonna check out a really central place and see if it can rival Rivvy... I'm thinking it probably could........

34 within 5 miles of my home, not that many, but on the other hand, this includes some pukka quality caches :blink: , something I'd rather see than lots just dashed out for the sake of it.

Giving it ago with GSAKs built in facility. I'll let you know the results around Christmas time , not sure which year though

Computer was still chuntering away to itself this morning , but hopefully it will have finished when I get home so I can start it off looking for the top 10 mile clusters .

I did do a quick(ish) test on caches within 20 miles of Oxford and it did seem to work quite well.

You could always come back the Beds, Bucks, Herts border-land.... There's more rubbish rural microcaches than you can shake a stick at :laughing:

If it hadnt been for my caches there would only be 13 within a 5 mile radius of my house, as it is there are 48.

Within 10 mile, 124 of which I have 47.

Not a touch on Rivington - leave me there for a week - that'll bump the numbers up LOL

84 within 5 miles of me and 200 within 10, although I bet a fair few of these havent been found for over a year and I wonder if they are still active.

Still at least that leaves plenty for me to go for.

162 that are 10 miles from our house in Plymouth not as many as some of you guys. I might have to go out and put lots more out :laughing:

I can just beat the first one as I have 99 within 5 miles of my home co-ords [Horsham, West Sussex], but only 308 within 10 miles, so you win that one! ;-)

If you weren't so scare of The Buzzard, I'd reckon I could have 100 within 5 miles.

From my home co-ordinates (west side of Derby) I've got :-

21 in a 5 mile radius (including 3 of mine and 2 disabled)

75 in a 10 mile radius (including 4 of mine and 5 disabled)

Better than some, but not up with the leaders.

I did do a quick(ish) test on caches within 20 miles of Oxford and it did seem to work quite well.

Running for about 24 hours and 75% complete and GSAK crashes , I suppose my mediocre PC was just not up to the job.

I give in, for now at least.

Well after the failure of GSAK :anibad: I have just done a quick check on Oxford, and from our home we have 125 within 5 miles and 343 within 10 miles. So surprisingly (to me anyway) it would appear that Oxford is still not doing too bad on the cache density. Plenty of room for a few more though

73- 5 miles and 526-10 miles. A number of the 10 mile caches will be the other side of London. By the time I had got there, I could have gone 50-100 miles up North.

On my bit of the North Wales coast there are 50 within 5 miles and 86 within 10 miles. The problem with being on the coast is that half the area covered by the radius, is of course under water. :lol:
