Or is it just a matter of sliding the cover on firmly, making sure it is all the way up before pushing down the 'lock'? Quote Link to comment

If you get a unit - open it up and look for an orange/red seal in the bottom of the unit - that is the upgraded one. If it isn't there - write to Garmin and they will send you a new cover.
