Ocala National Forest, Florida Benchmark found.

Hello folks. Got a benchmark question for you (I read this FAQ before posting. Sorry if this is in the wrong place):

 

Here is my story: I was on vacation in Ocala, FL and went to the nearby Ocala National Forest to find several geocaches. While grabbing this cache I found a benchmark right next to the intersection. Not knowing much about benchmarks I just copied down some information on it...

...and assumed I would find it on the geocaching website and be done with it - Nope.

The nearest benchmark to the coordinates of the cache nearest to this benchmark was at the Ocala Airport or something.

 

In conclusion, I don't know what benchmarking is all about so; There's some information if someone is keeping track of these or something. Please don't try to contact me by replying to this topic. Email or PM me please!

Since the geocaching.com benchmark information is only current as of 2000, the benchmark you found is not at the geocaching.com website. Here is the National Geodetic Survey information about the benchmark(partial):
