+Hick@Heart Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 (edited) Someone recently logged a find in one of my caches. They said it was 1 of 31 finds for that day. What is the most number of caches you have found in one day. Not including a bunch of TB's at an event. Edit to add to the discussion: It seems to me that you couldn't enjoy the trip while hustling to grab that many finds. Edited February 3, 2008 by Hick@Heart Quote

+Bad_CRC Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I found 7 or 8 in one day. that was about my limit. I was exhausted. They were all at the top of 600 foot bluffs. Beautiful views, but quite a hike. And it started raining while I was up there. Quote
+TeamGumbo Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I think 6 or 7. And that was plenty. Quote
+Wadcutter Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Highest was 32 in one day. Quite a few 20+/day. No real problem doing them. Caches were close so there wasn't a lot of running around and we had our routes planned. Had other days were 2 or 3 took the entire day. Quote
+edscott Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Did 19 once, but have had many more enjoyable days doing 1. Quote
+Cpt.Blackbeard Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 3 for me, but where I hunt there is a considerable amount of driving and walking for each find, in cache dense urban areas I can see extremly high numbers being possible. After three finds though I've had enough fun and it's back home again. Quote
+joranda Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 My best one day run was 114. It was a long day. Quote
+StarBrand Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Me 18. Took about 7 hours with my family. We drove about 120 miles and had a lot of fun. I watched a group get 84 in about 15 hours though. They had a lot of fun. You'll hear about much more........ Quote
+Cedar Grove Seekers Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 One day I set out to see how many I could do in an eight hour period, and got 24. Although rushed it was still an enjoyable day along the waterfront. I also DNFed 5 that were stuck in the ice. It's not normally my thing, but fun to try once. Quote
+ReadyOrNot Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Recently found 64 during a cache machine. But the first 20 were fairly easy to find because a group of 20 people were standing next to it signing the logbook. After we got away from the crowd, we had a really good time (cant believe im saying that)... It was exhausting, but a good time with friends. Quote
+The Leprechauns Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Found 240 in 24 hours, and enjoyed it very much, signed all the logbooks and remember most all of 'em. I'll be the judge of whether I'm having fun, thank you. Quote

+Harry Dolphin Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Well, my brother from the other coast came for a visit. He figured we could get higher numbers by going to an area that none of us had visited. So, we went through the Lincoln, and Queens-Midtown Tunnel, and headed out the LIE to the West Hills. Even with the driving, we managed 19 caches. Without my brother around, I think we've done ten in one day. Quote
+Miragee Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 One time, while with a group caching in a part of this large County where I had not been before, I found 47. On another day, on a "cache run" with someone working towards a "Milestone," we found 41. That cache run just about cured me of any desire to hunt for "urban caches" ever again . . . The best, most-cache day for me was when I found 32 caches during 12 miles of hiking in a large Regional Park. Quote
+anakerose Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 23 in one day, 37 in a weekend in the rain. Quote

+webscouter. Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Two years ago I took a cache buddy out for his birthday. He owns a business and never gets to take off to cache. I worked it out with his managers that he got his birthday off. We found one cache for each of his 43 years of age. Quote

I initially doubted, but I did my 64 in about 10 hours and that included about an hour lunch.. So going at my speed (which was by no means very fast), I could have done more than I ever imagined I would have been able to do. They go by pretty fast when you just put your head down and plug away Quote
+c&s 143 Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Up to this point the most for me in a single day is 8 which was on my first day of caching. Got 6 today and have gotten 7 other days. But I can see getting more. There is a marathon not far from here that I want to do (26 caches, 1 per mile) with a final cache gotten from clues on each of the 26. I hope to get all 27 in one day when I go for that. Craig C&S 143 Quote

We ended up doing tons of P&Gs and a lot of those were LPCs. It was a fun day, but I wouldn't want to cache like that every time. Edited because I typo'd (not my wife) when I meant (now my wife).... lol Edited February 4, 2008 by Okiebryan Quote

+Renegade Knight Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 24/26 or so. It was one heck of a good caching day. We made a 250 mile loop that lasted from sun up to sun down. Quote
+StumpWater Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Seven. That was plenty (given where the caches were, etc.). I could imagine doing more, but not often. StumpWater Quote

If you worked alone, that is one cache every six minutes for 24 hours. If they were all 500 feet apart as the geocaching standards mandate, you had to move pretty fast. How did you do it? All 1/1s in the city? Quote

All 1/1s in the city? Can be done!! Just take a look at the density of areas like San Jose CA and Yuba City CA. It's easy to pull in 15/hr in some of the areas with such density and still manage food & restroom breaks. Heck, I pulled in 20 in less than two hours just driving from Sonoma to Vallejo! Quote

All 1/1s in the city? I replied to the thread by truthfully answering how many caches I found in one day. That's the subject of this thread; not to "call out" people. How do we know that the person who claims 32 finds really only found 30? Or that the person who found 16 relied on "phone a friend" for six of them when they couldn't find the caches quickly? If you want to learn more about my high finds day, search for posts by my account that have the word "240" in them. That search will return two pages worth of topics for you to read. Quote
+Shop99er Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 My best day ever was 72 during a cache machine. Four of us went to Seattle one day on a numbers run. I got about 60 that day. TTUMS and I have managed to bag 30 in a 12 hour day. She and I usually get 13-20 in a day. Quote
+dardevle Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 The most I found was 41 in about 8hrs. We could have done more but really did not plan out our day of caching at all. We just kinda jumped around. Quote
+KJcachers Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 13 finds+1 benchmark and 2 DNFs. Wasted way too much time on the DNF's. We also did 12+1 benchmark this past Saturday with 2 more DNF's that ate up our time. Quote

The same Cache Machine as shop99er, what a blast it was!! 74 was from 6am till 12 midnight. Stopped for a brief lunch and an extended dinner. Many stories for that day, and many fantastic new sights we saw. Not something I would do to often, but occasionally its well worth it. Quote
+ChileHead Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 103. I wouldn't do it again though. The vast majority were drive-ups, and we did it for the challenge to see many many we could find. Quote
