foxtrot_xray Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 So I had to go out yesterday and do some driving for errands. For fun, I had wanted to try my new bluetooth GPX unit, so I had my palm with topo maps on it. At the end of running around, I took a scenic road home. I notice, on the map, a USGS mark. Since the sun was still barely up, I decided to stop and see if I could find it. I did - it was an easy fine. In the woods, it still had its little marker post and sign. It even appeared as if it had been used recently, as someone had highlighted it in green paint. The next one on down the road was lost, but then the following one I had found with a little more difficult searching (had to walk around for 5 minutes. As opposed to the first one.) Anyways, so I hadn't planned on finding any, but ended up finding two of three, using nothing but an electronic map. Tho I found them, I have no way of logging them, so I'm not sure whether to say it was a 'successful' day. Quote
+Ernmark Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 ..congrats! I still can't tear myself away from paper, tho.. I started putting USGS's on Waymarking - a good place to park the pictures/to reach until the day the USGS joins the electronic age Quote

I started putting USGS's on Waymarking - a good place to park the pictures/to reach until the day the USGS joins the electronic age I usually do it by paper as well.. This was a off-the-cuff searching, so I was really surprised that I found them, even despite their easiness to locate. Quote
