Who has bought a Vista HCx lately?

I have read here that people have gotten a belt clip knob that attaches to the back of the unit when they bought the Vista HCx. I received my Vista yesterday but it did not have the knob. The box has a list of the contents and does not list the knob, but a brochure/manual in the box says there should be a knob.

We got ours a couple of months ago & it had the (quite useless) knob. The knob interdigitates with any of several different types of mounts & they are $15-$20 each IIRC. Call customer service & they should send you one.

I picked up a Garmin Legend HCx and it came with that useless knob as well. Turns out the knob operating the device was initially as useless but that's another story.

 

Looking at the addons that the knob is for I don't see much point in it but ...

Mine didn't come with a knob, just the clip thing that I have no use for. I wish I would have got a knob and a belt clip. I would have a use for that!

Thanks everyone. Guess I will contact Garmin and see if I can get one. If not no big deal I guess. I did get the handlebar mount clip and will be using that on my bicycle and motorcycle.

I bought a Vista HCx about three weeks ago and it came with the quick release for the Garmin mounts. I also bought the handle bar mount for my bike and it come with a back, but I have read the old eTrex back does not fit the new Vista HCx ( I haven't tried it yet) and is why the new units come with the quick release that screws into the back above the 1/4 turn back release.
