Pressure Plotting With Colorado Turned Off

I've noticed with the new Colorado's, that Garmin has brought back the feature of barometric pressure plotting with the unit turned off. I always thought this was really a neat function that the old 60 CS and C had but it went away with the Cx and CSx units (just like the alarm clock).

Anyway, it's back, but what I was wondering, was the fact that Garmin warns about removing the batteries from the Colorado while this function is activated (obviously), but never makes it clear if it is harmful to the unit itself or simply messes up and interrupts the pressure plot itself? Does anyone have any insight to this issue? :D

Does nobody out there know anything about this?

If you remove the batteries for several hours, then your RTC (the clock) will stop.

If you don't have any batteries in, when it's supposed to turn on for an alarm, or to save the pressure, then it can't turn on to do that, even if the clock is still running from the backup power source.

But it will not destroy the Colorado itself.
