I and juttoku-san plan to go cache hunt in west Kanagawa area.

Time: Start in mornig (Detail time will be descided)

Place: near Odawara station, west part of Kanagawa (approx. 100 kilometer west from Tokyo)

Planned waypoints: GC187CJ, GC187D0, GC187CX (If it will be sunny GC18B61, GC187C4, GC18B66, GC18B64 is also the candidates) We will be there by train, so no car is needed.

I try to ,

- enjoy cache hunt with geocahers

- test my Wherigo cartridge

- test wireless wi-fi connection

I don't want this event to be event cache, because this is a simple cache hunt with experiment.

This event is also announced in Mixi.

Please anyone, who want be there on the day, contact me or reply this post.

Hi, amata84

In Tokyo (especially if you don't have much time for geocaching), I recommend to visit in Ueno Park. The Japanese geocachers focused on the park. You can visit eight caches (GC12AB5, GC18FXD, GC17YDM, GC17YDP, GCHY63, GC17YCC, GC17YCE, GC17YEE) in short walking :D .

I issued this topic to inform or announce the cache hunt plan in Japan.

It helps geocachers live, travel in Japan can find their buddy.

I would like to go cache hunting in Japan. However, I do not know when I will visit Japan again, but perhaps in May? I will remember to look at Ueno Park in Tokyo. :yikes:

One of my travel bugs has made it to Japan! Andover Massachusetts Travel Bug

I hope that it goes around the world.

Hi Japan Geocachers!

I'd like to add Japanese to a cache that I own. When I type in the Japanese on my computer, it looks fine. But when I submit the edited listing, it looks like ??????

Do you know if I have to do something special to get it to work? I'd like to practice my Japanese and make my cache more accessible for those who only speak Japanese.

よろしくお願いします。

-selena-

update: I think I fixed it! I had to switch the encoding in my "view" option to EUC. Thank you!

Hi aneles-san,

You need to convert the Japanese character using "character reference" for cache detail and log pages.

Both pages provide the conversion.

HTML encode by WeatherReport

or

Encode and Transition by smalltalk

Additionally you can directly type the Japanese character in the Groundspeak forum and "send message" in Geocaching.com.

Hi,

I will be in Okinawa in end of Nov. and go for Geocaching all the day on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30.

If I can meet any geocacher or go along with any geocacher. I will be a great pleasure for me. :)

I'm looking forward to searching caches in Okinawa.
