+Jonovich
Hi folks, Not sure if anyone else was wondering if the Garmin UK topo maps will be fully compatible with the new Garmin Colorado? Well, I asked, and it appears they are! Garmin have also confirmed that a second unlock code is available to use the mapping on the Colorado, if you have only unlocked your existing maps to one unit already! The Colorado is fully compatible with Topo GB and will show the contour shading. Provided you have only unlocked the maps to one unit you will be entitled to obtain an additional unlock code for a new unit such as the Colorado. Kind regards Jamie Wiltshire Garmin (Europe) Ltd Cheers, Jon. Quote Link to comment

So maybe it wasn't such a good thing getting my unit replaced under warranty - I assume I have unlocked the maps for two units now. I really like the look and sound of the Colorado. +scottpa100
Hmm... So maybe it wasn't such a good thing getting my unit replaced under warranty - I assume I have unlocked the maps for two units now. I really like the look and sound of the Colorado. Don't worry, its no big problem. Just go to my.garmin.com sign up, log in, register etc and you can un-register the maps for a unit. It means that you won't be able to update or refresh the maps for that unit. But if you have a large memory card, you may only want to do it the once anyhow... Edited cos I did slight typo on the URL Edited January 21, 2008 by scottpa100 Quote Link to comment

+Jonovich
I have only read one review of the Colorado so far and it wasn;t altogether positive for geocaching. Hmm... that's worrying... I'd just read that Darryl at the CacheaManiacs returned his unit due to shortcomings in it's Paperless Geocaching mode... But not really read anything that says what these shortcomings are.... Don't suppose you have a link to the less than positive review do you? Thanks muchly, J Quote Link to comment

Hear what he has to say about it on the Geocaching Podcast here Quote Link to comment
