+HopsMaltYeast Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I have been searching the fourm and I am sure this topic has been addressed, but I have been unable to find it if it has. The SWAG topic prompts me to ask the related question - where can you find the nifty small zip lock baggies that I find in many small and micro caches? Much smaller than the sandwich or 1/2 sandwich sizes you can find at grocery stores. Like 1 inch by 3 inches, etc. I searched online and found quite a few wholesale sources - like 1,000 per box. They are are quite cheap by the way, but I don't need 1,000. Staples and Office depot also have them, but in 1,000 each boxes (for about 5 times the price of wholesale distributors). Craft stores? Often I find caches with the plastic baggy in poor shape and leaking - it would be great to carry some new ones to replace the leaky ones. Thanks Quote
+Viajero Perdido Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Dollar stores carry the teeny ziplocs in all sorts of sizes. (At least up here in Canada they do.) Quote
Neos2 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Hobby stores are a great place to buy them. Hobby Lobby and Something to Do stores near me both carry them in various sizes in smaller packs and in larger quantities. Quote
+palser Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Wally World has them in various sizes. From the sandwich size to very small(dime size) in the crafts/sewing area. My wife picks them up for me most of the time. Quote

Thanks HopsMaltYeast, I have a bunch of 4 mil (standard zip locks are 1 mil, maybe 2 mil at the most?) small plastic zip lock baggies (2.75" x 4") that you might be interested in. We use them in our store for various items from holding cache logs to holding swag items as you had mentioned. PM me if you are interested. If there is significant interest I could also make them available to the public. Follow the link in my profile for more info on where to find them. Edited January 11, 2008 by logonwheeler Quote
+briansnat Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 You can find them in crafts stores, but the ones I've found there were pretty flimsy. You can buy 4 and 6 mil bags in bulk, online. Thick and much more durable than the ones I've seen in the stores. Quote
+belle610 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 My wife worked for a while stocking at Target. The jewelry department routinely threw away hundreds of these little bags every week. Try asking nicely at an jewelry department and you may be able to get as many as you need for free Quote
+HopsMaltYeast Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 Wow, thanks for all the help. Great info and tips. Quote

+Miragee Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 A friend got some small ones at RiteAid that are for holding pills. They are heavy-duty plastic compared to other small ones I have seen. They were only about 2" by 3", however. Quote

They hold up great. I use them myself for shipping product. I buy them by the 1000 since I dont see anywhere you can get them in less qty. There is a place that sells them for 12.99 for 1000 2"x3". If you want the link let me know. Quote
+Okiebryan Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 (edited) Be careful. Some cops use the possession of these baggies as probable cause to provide you with a free exploratory rectal exam...figuratively speaking of course... Seems crack dealers use these tiny baggies, too... Cop logic: Crack dealers use tiny baggies, ergo all people who use little baggies are probably crack dealers. calikrypto Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 (edited) Any smoke shop (head shop) will have whatever kind of baggies you want. Just don't get the ones with the little pot leaves on them. Edited January 17, 2008 by calikrypto Quote
+Nochipra Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I got some at Walmart too but I may check the jewlry depts. first now? Quote
+Airhead-kb Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Michaes's has them. Not sure how many are in the box, but I keep two different sizes stashed in the geo-mobile. (1x2? & 2x3?). I'll check later this evening when I get there. Quote
