+davethis
I am trying to figure out a way to automatically delete archived caches from GSAK. Has anyone done this or know of a way to to this? My first thought was to use a pocket query, but I do not see a way to search for archived caches. Thanks in advance!!! Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
Two ways. First and simplest is to purge the database on loading it. Then no archived caches will be in the database. However, for the more complicated method (if you want to keep old logs), GSAK has a macro that can do this, and you'll find in on the GSAK forums. It involves being sure that your PQs cover the area and return all of the caches (not going over the 500 mark). Then load the new data on top of the old data and delete caches with an old "Last GPX" date. Quote Link to comment
+hydnsek
One day maybe I'll try that GSAK macro. But it only takes me about 30 seconds now to delete archived caches from my database, so the incentive is small. I just sort by Last GPX, check the caches that haven't been updated, select them with the User Defined filter, and use Delete Waypoints to remove them. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Markwell's first suggestion is what I do. Bottom line is that Groundspeak has made the business decision to limit information on archived caches - so no PQ will do it. The 2nd suggetion is the way most cachers do it. Quote Link to comment

It is so easy that I have no incentive to figure out how to access and use a macro. Quote Link to comment
