GeoPirates2007 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 It is not something you seek out, it is up to the powers that be to determine. If you are needed you will be asked Quote
+Sioneva Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 You'd have to check with Vinny, but I believe it requires a goat sacrifice... and possibly proof that you were abducted by aliens at least once. Quote
+TheAlabamaRambler Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 (edited) If you ask that means you want it, if you want it it's probably to exercise your will upon the game, and so they don't want you. TPTB watch and wait, and when they need someone they reach out to someone known to be their kinda person... Edited January 9, 2008 by TheAlabamaRambler Quote
Keystone Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Is becoming a forum moderator the same as an admin? If not, how is it done? Admins are employees of Groundspeak. With obvious exceptions (Jeremy, OpinioNate, etc.), forum moderators are volunteers like myself. One does not need to be a Volunteer Cache Reviewer in order to be a forum moderator. There are several volunteers who are only forum moderators; they do not review geocaches for publication. The process for becoming a forum moderator is similar to my post about becoming a volunteer cache reviewer, found here in the FAQ thread that's pinned at the top of the "Getting Started" forum. Groundspeak would be looking for active involvement in the Groundspeak Forums, including many helpful posts to answer questions, and a positive demeanor even when criticized. Quote
+ReadyOrNot Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Is becoming a forum moderator the same as an admin? If not, how is it done? The fact that you want to be a forum moderator probably excludes you from being one.. And it calls into question your sanity (All joking) Quote
