+Hobo2 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) I spotted a thread like this in my local UTAG Forums and thought it was cool, so I thought I would start one here to see even more photos. Here is a funny sign I ran across caching up in Evanston Wyo. Edited January 7, 2008 by Hobo2 Quote
+fox-and-the-hound Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I'll have to go take a pic, but we have a local cemetery with a one way loop and if you're at the wrong end of the road it says "NO EXIT" Quote

Mushtang Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 There a thread here in the off topic section that has 7 pages of funny signs. Most of them are too screwy to understand what they even mean. Quote

Dinoprophet Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I've posted this many times, why not again? It's not so much the sign that's funny: Quote
+sbell111 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) In a similar, ancient thread, I offered up a sign on the campus of a local university. It reads 'No passing on campus'. Edited to add the pic. Ignore the younger, skinnier, wind-blown fellow. Edited January 7, 2008 by sbell111 Quote
+rhelt100 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 This is not my picture, but I have a picture of this same sign at home. It ended up being the joke of the day. I probably quoted it 30 times, LOL. Quote

Mushtang Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 It reads 'No passing on campus'. I must not have passed Irony 101. It took me way longer than it should have to even understand why that sign was "funny". I got it, eventually. Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Also from Mr. Flip's - Whoa, Check this out! the now defunct "Keep your head DOWN" cache. Quote
+BWidget Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Found this street sign near a cache. I use it now as my background image on my phone. Quote
+frinklabs Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Saw this between two cache locations near the airport here. Pretty generic warning, if you ask me. Quote
+deb3day Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I don't have a pic of it, but there is a sign on one of the highschool campus parking lots that says "No Parking in this Lot". Begs the question "Then why the h*&$ did you put a lot here?" Quote
+mizdeeds Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Saw this one while vacationing in Vermont. Uhhhh... your OTHER left? Quote
+GMPARTSPRO Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Saw this one while caching a park this last fall..... Quote
knowschad Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Actually, I saw this while looking through another cacher's gallery Quote
+Ninjatummen Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 A warning sign in Sweden close to the geocache "VARNING FÖR..." by MPLL. A scary cat if you ask me. Quote

k_statealan Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I don't have a photo, but near me there are several places where there are yellow diamond shaped signs at the base of hills. The signs say "Hill blocks view" Really? They aren't transparent? Quote
+FunnyNose Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Here is one I saw in Wuhan China. Sign says Respiratory adjusted to keep up with the beats of the city center towards the direction of the thick material or breeding complex Quote
+Chrysalides Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Here is one I saw in Wuhan China. Sign says Respiratory adjusted to keep up with the beats of the city center towards the direction of the thick material or breeding complex OK, that one definitely lost something in the (babelfish) translation Quote
+Harry Dolphin Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Here's a sign that we saw at the M&M Mars plant in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Quote
+EscapeFromFlatland Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 The parking area outside the laundry point on base here has a few signs "Combat Parking Only".. gotta get a pic of that. Inside our shower trailers, which have no windows, there are signs that say "Turn Lights Off For Safety"... someone didnt think this thru... Will get pics soon. Quote

Here is one I saw in a thread called "Interesting signs seen while caching" or something like that. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...66-1d01ae9f9bf8 Here is one I saw while caching by my neighborhood. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...c4-503c96dba87f And one more also by my neighborhood. This one is archived, but was called Vegetarian Cache. The sign inspired AD0OR (now JAC0B) to place it there. http://img.geocaching.com/cache/92fc1a67-4...e7397472b47.jpg Quote

+jbushee Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 (edited) Didn't take a photo, but a great one I still can't get over was at a McDonalds drive up window. There was a sign that read "Picture Menu Available" Is it just me, or if you can't read and NEED a picture menu, what good is the sign? Another was in Dripping Springs TX, where we found a liquor store with a sign out front "Drive up window". Doesn't that just send the wrong message? Edited July 22, 2010 by jbushee Quote
+Viajero Perdido Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Near a cache in Valladolid, Mexico. This was my favorite of the hand-painted signs, which this town has a lot of. (They don't seem to work though.) Quote
Andronicus Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) Funny at least for those of us from Canada. Edit: Someone have a link for the "other" sign thread. Edited July 23, 2010 by Andronicus Quote
Andronicus Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 OK, that one has got to be photoshoped. If not, someone got fired. Quote
+budbon Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I havent seen one but I have always thought it would be funny to post "DRY PAINT" signs in a building to see who would touch the walls. Quote

+dfx Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 my personal favorite, because it's somewhat subtle: probably the shortest high-speed stretch of road ever: (you're allowed to go 100 km/h between those two "50" km/h signs) Quote

Or, if you're on the left side of the road you can drive 49 km/h or 51 km/h but not 50 km/h. It must be a Canadian thing. I still haven't figured out what the flashing green lights I saw in Vancouver is supposed to mean. Quote
