+Miragee
The file should just open in GSAK. That is what I do with the zipped PQ files, but then I don't have Vista . . . What version of GSAK do you have? I wonder if that makes a difference. For help from the real experts, you should probably ask over in the GSAK Support Forum. Quote Link to comment

When you download the PQ from the email, do you get an option to "Open With', and if you are , are you choosing GSAK? Have you tried right-clicking the zip file and choosing "open with Gsak"? +WRASTRO
I am using Vista and GSAK and don't have any problems opening the PQ. I save it to the Desktop as a .zip rather than a .zi_, then I just drag it on to the GSAK icon. Quote Link to comment
+BilLow
Don't try to open the FILE with GSAK - open the FOLDER that you have saved to your computer. I had the same problem with Vista until I discoverd this. Quote Link to comment
+Team_LPD
I use Vista and don't have any problems. When I click on the file I save it into a folder named "GSAK" which is where I also save individual GPX exchange files when checking out the site. After the unzipped PQ is saved into the file I just load it itno GSAK by asking GSAK to look for the file in that folder. Don't know if this is the only way load them using Vista, but it works for me and I also used it when I had XP. Quote Link to comment
+Big_John
I use vista and leave them zipped with no problem. When the e-mail comes in I right click on the zip file and chose save as. I save to the same folder each time. I then go to GSAK and choose open gpx/loc and it does the trick. Quote Link to comment
crawil
I did as most of the above for some time until I figured out how to have GSAK get the file(s) from my gmail account and import them itself - linky. It's really made things much easier. Quote Link to comment

+Miragee
Then I don't know why in GSAK you can just use File/Open and navigate to the .zip file, select it, and open it. That is what I do and it has never failed to work. Quote Link to comment

I open the email that has the PQ attachment. Clik on the atch and it gives me the chance to save or open... I select Open but it does not allow me to select a program to open it with. So I save to file.... under Documents: WOOWOOOOOOOHOOOOO long way around.. OK.. I have to save PQ to Documents. dbl clik the PQ and it wants to open with a GSAK Macro and that aint been working. So I put GSAK on desktop.... Select Open With then point to GSAK on the desktop voila it WORKS But this method seems like a long work around??? Quote Link to comment
+LthrWrk
Hi Gang... Thanks to all of you with your suggestions. I think my problem is somewhere in the folder where you set the default programs for opening files. Seems to be resolved now... Thanks again to everyone..... Wont be long and I can git out n play.
