yettobenamed Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Hey all, I hope this hasn't been posted yet, but what the hay. I was wondering what caches people as tourists or in touristy areas? I went to europe a while ago and found caches in the Munich trainstation, tower in Ulm, near the Sacre Couer in Paris, and the Gardens of Versailles. Since I prefer travelling to urban areas over just travelling to geocache, I was excited to see I could combine the two easily enough. Have other people done the same thing? Any favorites? Are there caches at other super famous places or attractions? PS I'm actually RogueTowel, but that account wont actually work here. Quote

+briansnat Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 They're all tourist caches if you don't live there. Haystack Hike was a favorite away from home cache of mine. Quote

+team moxiepup Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Maine has quite a few. We are the "Vacationland" state after all! Most lighthouses have one in the vicinity, as well as most parks and anywhere else tourists would gather. There are a lot of extra hits on our caches during tourist season! Quote

+Blaidd-Drwg Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 (edited) They're all tourist caches if you don't live there. Stonegate Devil is one of my favorites, even though TPTB didn't use my picture when it was recently used in the GC webpage. Edited January 4, 2008 by Team Madog Quote

When we plan a trip I use the caches along a route feature and look for all of the virtual caches along with the regular caches. The virtuals have taken us to places that aren't always in the tourist information that we get. Quote
