TexasGringo Posted January 2, 2008 Author Posted January 2, 2008 Another one today trying to get into the forums.... PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in E:\Inetpub\forums\GC\ips_kernel\class_db_mysql.php on line 457 PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in E:\Inetpub\forums\GC\sources\ipsclass.php on line 1111
trainlove Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Does this have anything to do with the ubiquitous server burp that has been causing multiple posts of the same reply over and over and over again and again and again? I'll try to get that to happen right now but it's not repeatable.
Miragee Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I just got a "Service Unavailable" error a little while ago . . . And, even without errors, the Forums sure are slow this morning . . .
trainlove Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Another manifestation of this problem is that on a lot of messages I see the first few replies but it just hangs up. I never get to see the Fast Reply, Add Reply ot New Topic Buttons at the bottoom of the page. This has more than once almost caused me to reply to something that's already been answered by my pressing a + Reply with or without a + Quote also. But I've not replied extraneously to those couple topics. I'm so proud of myself for waiting.
TexasGringo Posted January 4, 2008 Author Posted January 4, 2008 (edited) Been getting some slowness over the last week...Not all the thime....just Sporatic. Trying to read a post... http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=181375 CGI Timeout The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process. Edited January 4, 2008 by Drooling_Mongoloid
Ed & Julie Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 (edited) It's been a problem for years, and they "are working on it". While you wait to view your cache pages, deal with time-outs, bog down is slowness, miss emails/PQs, and are told to wait till mid-week at 2am to log your cache finds, you can breathe easy knowing that their whole new "wherei[wont]go.com" project is getting the attention and resources. +trainlove Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Sems the issue more often happens with postings that other people are replying to at the same time as you are doing so. Perhaps we all shouldn't be so interested in popular posts.
TexasGringo Posted January 7, 2008 Author Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) ***Perhaps we all shouldn't be so interested in popular posts*** Ok, I'll post the DULL ones to free up the system. (Just Kidding) Edited January 7, 2008 by Drooling_Mongoloid
TexasGringo Posted January 7, 2008 Author Posted January 7, 2008 Funny that this should happen as we post.... CGI Timeout The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.
trainlove Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Funny that this should happen as we post.... CGI Timeout The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process. ha, ha, ha, ha, ha Lets see if I can get 10 copies of this...
stepshep Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 While this is an issue, it's not exactly a reason to spam the forums.....
stepshep Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 (edited) While this is an issue, it's not exactly a reason to spam the forums..... Tried to post first time and got: PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in E:\Inetpub\forums\GC\ips_kernel\class_db_mysql.php on line 457 PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in E:\Inetpub\forums\GC\sources\ipsclass.php on line 1111 Looks like it went through anyways... +Miragee Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Yes . . . but it went through twice . . . I'm hoping when the GC.com staff get back from the big electronics show in Las Vegas this week, they'll have some new ideas for solving these Forum and Site slowdown issues . . . The Forums have been very frustrating this past week . . .
trainlove Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Electronics show? Don't these servers run on steam power? Or maybe coal?
Miragee Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I tried to post in another thread three times and kept getting this error: CGI TimeoutThe specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process. At least when the other error occurs, the post goes through . . . It ultimately took 20 minutes to post a simple reply, encouraging someone to become a Premium Member, to go through . . .
ArcherDragoon Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I have had all your observations happen to me in the past month or so...oh,well...no real help here...just wanted to say you are not alone in this matter!!!
TrailGators Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Add me to the list. I have been having tons of issues posting and even just getting to the most recent post of any thread. The status bar seems to just stall out. There have been other threads discussing this as well.
Miragee Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I just got a different error message this time . . . CGI Error The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. :)
StarBrand Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I just got a different error message this time . . . CGI Error The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. :) Saw that twice yesterday along with the timeout error about 5 times.
Miragee Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I just got another CGI error . . . and then got the timeout error . . . I'm going to give up on the Forums and go do some laundry . . .
Miragee Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Tonight's error . . . +thedeadpirate Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 (edited) Wanted to bump this just in case someone might be thinking things are back to normal. Looking forward to the annual adding of hamsters to the machine. Hope they come soon. Edited January 15, 2008 by GeoBain
TexasGringo Posted January 23, 2008 Author Posted January 23, 2008 ***Wanted to bump this just in case someone might be thinking things are back to normal.*** Still having problems? I have not timed out in a while now.
