I saw this photo posted by Captain Gore-tex earlier for one of Woodbury Walker's Grand Western Canal caches and I thought it was fantastic:

If you've seen some ace photos recently feel free to post a link to them.

To the other end of the country now...

From our log on The Logan Rock cache (GCKX8Y) in the far SW of Cornwall, looking west towards my home area and Porthcurno beach.

I remember this one well... we set off from Porthcurno beach and walked along the sand (the tide was out) Got down to about 1/4 mile to go and my daughter (7 at the time) suddenly said....

"That mans got no clothes on !!!"

Well she was right... what we did not realise is that the last cove towards the cache was a nudist beach !!!

Different experiance that day !

The top one is the Ashton Court balloon fiesta in Bristol. Taken during the evening mass ascent. It's a composite of two photos joined. The second one... blue sky, blue sea, cruise ship and palm trees? Isles of Scilly last June.....

Love the poppy one and the one with the rape growing and the deer in it, fantastic! The one with the rape and deer, that needs to be sent to Countryfile and to go on the Countryfile calendar.

There are some really wonderful photos on this thread and on the other thread that Ninjapete linked to, which I had missed. There was mention on that other thread of some way of setting up a photo gallery. Does anyone have the skills/ knowhow to do something like that so that cachers could submit photos - a bit like the BBC Scotland readers photos ?

..............the one with the rape growing and the deer in it, ..............

Not as outstanding as the deer in rape one, but I had forgot about startling this deer, it then stood on the far bank and growled (or whatever deer do?) at me.

Afternoon sky on Christmas Day, looking towards the Rockies.

I have been to Alberta 3 times. I have always wanted to go to the Rockies, and the view that you have in your picture is the closest I have ever managed to get. :)

Thames Barrier taken from my boat as we brought it back from the Medway and through London at night. Millennium Dome and Canary Wharf in left background.
