Uberquandary
It's really not that important. Most people probably don't notice. But it would make me happy if the wording for the 'Should be Archived' notification were just a teensy bit different. Now, they read like this: BillyJoeBob requested Some Cache or Another (Multi-cache) to be archived. But ideally, it would say: BillyJoeBob requested that Some Cache or Another (Multi-cache) be archived. It's the subjunctive. Everybody says it doesn't exist in English; they're wrong. By some weird luck, this sentence is a perfect example of it. That's all. Edited December 13, 2007 by Uberquandary Link to comment

+BlueDeuce
Ah yes, that ol' SBA grammar issue. It's been done mentioned before. Needs Archived?, Is this good English? Of course the correct term is 'Proper English'. Edited December 13, 2007 by BlueDeuce Link to comment
Uberquandary
Has it been? I tried a search. Edit: No, that's a different issue. I saw that one when I was searching. Edited December 13, 2007 by Uberquandary Link to comment

The latter is a bit more fluent and is the way I'd write it, but the former is perfectly good English. Edward Link to comment

But I suggest that the sentence be needs refined. Edited to correct the grammer. Just stumbled onto this log for a local cache: Very clever indeed!! I had given up and decided to head for another nearby cache. On the way back Blondie took another look and BINGO. I looked right there also and completely missed it. LOG NEEDS REPLACED. Next geocacher try to remember to bring some log paper that will fit in a 35mm container. We had fun finding this one. clever, clever, clever hide. Signed Log Link to comment
