+Kelsborrow Wayfinders Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 After a number of false alerts I've been told that my geocaching article will be in tonights Evening Leader (Chester, Wrexham, Flintshire) on pages 14 and 15 with photos by snapperman. Quote
+The Lavender Hill Mob Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 After a number of false alerts I've been told that my geocaching article will be in tonights Evening Leader (Chester, Wrexham, Flintshire) on pages 14 and 15 with photos by snapperman. Excellent, I'd like to have a gander Is there any way it can be scanned and viewed on the forum? Quote
+Kelsborrow Wayfinders Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 I think it will be too big to scan but I will see how much they have chopped it up and perhaps cut and paste the original document. Quote
+Kelsborrow Wayfinders Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 It's actually available on the Evening Leader website. http://www.eveningleader.co.uk/latest-feat...-new.3584166.jp Quote
Deceangi Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Would you believe it, I live just inside the Flintshire border with Denbighshire. But to get a copy of the Flintshire leader which the article is appearing in. I've actually got to go to a paper shop 10 miles away from home, as the paper isn't delivered to the local ones Quote
+perth pathfinders Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Just read the article. Nice one!! What an unusual hobby - wonder if it catches on? WELL DONE YOOS! Quote
+tedwin Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Nice article, pity it refers to the geocacheuk website which appears to be down again . Sorry Teasel, I know it's not your fault. tedwin Quote

+scottpa100 Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 (edited) That is a good article written without sounding funny (off tone type of thing), and without coming across overly nerdy. And some of the caches mentioned, I recognise!! Edited as I missed out important words like of and the and is etc. Edited December 13, 2007 by scottpa100 Quote
The Red Kite Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Nicely done!! It almost makes us sound normal Quote
+tonibunny Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Oh WOW we just happened to go caching around Wrexham today, and we did the "Lovely Lookout" cache and I picked up that Canadian Forces coin! I noticed that you'd taken photos for a newspaper article when I logged my finds....fancy it being out today though It's a lovely article, congrats! Quote
+HazelS Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Chas from the Kelsborrow's has been threatening to write that article for donks.... Well done Chas... Quote
+John Stead Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Well done Chas on a really good article - should see a drastic growth in the number of Cachers in the Borders! Incidentally my reading of it gave the link to www.geocaching.co.uk and I was redirected to the correct groundpeak address and not geocacheuk. Quote
+Kelsborrow Wayfinders Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 Incidentally my reading of it gave the link to www.geocaching.co.uk and I was redirected to the correct groundpeak address and not geocacheuk. wink.gif I noticed just after I had submitted the article that I had put www.geocaching.co.uk instead of www.geocaching.com but when I checked the link it took me to the main site anyway so I didn't think it was worthwhile changing it. Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Quote
+tteggod trackers Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Vey good article, worthy of national coverage rather than local. Atleast we were able to view on www. WELL DONE! Quote

Sorry Scott your In-box will be dinging this evening And just to clear up any confusion for those who don't know them [just like my colleagues who couldn't find them when searching for the team ] Team Marzipan is the display name used by MarzipanCurtis Quote
+gazooks Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Well done - nicely written. It almost doesn't sound as weird as some of my friends think it is Quote
+Pieman Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 It's a very good article although I am biased as it credits me with finding the cache when it was actually Chas that found it. I'm not sure whether that was journalistic license or Chas's modesty. Quote

I had also cleared the NE Wales coastal area... Then Team Marzipan were born! Quote
