DutchBoy
I noticed that this cache is hidden very near the Westroads Mall, where the shooting occured in Omaha. Stay away from looking for this cache for awhile. GCVDWJ Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
Might be something for the Great Plains region forum, eh? Quote Link to comment
briansnat
Well if they already had the shooting, then I think the coast is clear now. I wouldn't want to go after a cache just before a shooting was about to happen in the area though. Quote Link to comment

mtn-man
Probably because security will be on high alert for a while. Seems pretty straight forward to me. Bummer about a shooting at a mall at Holiday time. Moving to the proper forum. Quote Link to comment
joranda
Yeah, I think the damage is already done. Quote Link to comment

KoosKoos
I noticed that this cache is hidden very near the Westroads Mall, where the shooting occured in Omaha. That's actually what I saw in the OP...to stay away BECAUSE of all the police and muggle passerby. No danger to geocachers, but the cache might be at risk or alert other people of why that person is lurking around the lamppost over there. Edit to add: if the owner is worried about it, they can disable the cache temporarily. Edited December 6, 2007 by KoosKoos Quote Link to comment
carleenp
The entire mall and surrounding area is closed today and will reopen tomorrow. While closed, there is no particularly good parking for the cache, and the fact that (according to the news) the entire mall is surrounded by police tape would likely deter people seeking it anyway. When the mall reopens tomorrow, I assume there will be no problems finding the cache. Edited December 6, 2007 by carleenp Quote Link to comment
