billsmax Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I've just order GpsMap 60csx and getting it tomorrow. Trying to decide which maps i should purchase. Shud I buy the City Nav NA DVD or get it on the microSd? Is there an advantage to having the DVD or having only on the microSd card? I also plan to get the Topo 2008. Mainly using the GPS for hunting, cacheing and Rv'g thruout US and Alaska. Are these maps the right choice or should i get something else? Quote
+THE_Chris Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Get CN on DVD, as the SD cards you buy only hold one small area. They work out much more expensive. Get CN, and buy a 1 or 2gb SD card, so you can fit all the maps on at once Quote

Are these maps the right choice or should i get something else? Depends - how cheap are you? There's a free program called Metrowizzz (and a $6.00 version called MetroGold) that will allow you to add auto-routing to Metroguide maps. Metroguide doesn't have Garmin's restrictive unlocking mechanism, so you can use it on as many GPS receivers as you want. A used copy of Metroguide is a lot cheaper than City Navigator... Quote
billsmax Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 I'm as cheap as i can get away with. I prefer not to spend more money than I have to. Thanks for the info. Quote
