A cointest in honor of the great season my WV Mountaineers have put together:

Football – Ranked #2 and will beat Pitt tonight. This will get them to the National Championship game. (edit: ooops!)

Mens Soccer – a 15 seed in the NCAA tournament. They play Wake next.

Women’s soccer – a 4 seed in the NCAA tournament. Lost to USC last night.

I’m offering up a trackable Antique Gold WV state geocoin. Only 40 were made and they were distributed among the design team. None of the antique gold coins were ever sold.

Rules:

Guess the total number of points scored in tonight’s game against Pitt. Kickoff is around 7:45-8:00 EST.

First person to post the closest guess without going over will win.

1 post per player. If someone posts more than once, the first post made before halftime will be the one used.

No editing of posts.

Tiebreaker: How many rushing yards will Pat White have tonight? The closest guess without going over will win the tiebreaker if needed.

Deadline to post:

To be eligible to win make your guess before halftime. Any guesses after the end of the second quarter will be ineligible.

I’ll check back in by tomorrow morning to see who wins. This is the 100th edition of the Backyard Brawl so there may be some partying going on…

Yes - I'll ship internationally so everyone has a chance to play.

Let’s GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mountaineers!

0 Points. Pitt is going to surprise! Sofas will burn in M-town.

It sure would be a surprise if no one scored!

Can't find my couch candle ...

WVU-34 PIT-17

Total 51

White rushing-85

I'm hoping that WVU wins and Oklahoma beats Missouri so we can see Ohio State vs West Virginia. I'm from Ohio and my wife is from WV so it could be interesting!

Ooooh a football cointest! Without any previous research a perfectly good guess on my part.

Total points: 47 (30/17)

PW Rushing Yrds: 132

Thanks for the cointest:) Good luck to your team.

OT: My Carroll College Saints (NAIA) won today, they head to Savannah, TN for the NAIA championship game  GO FIGHTING SAINTS!

Wow. I mean really ... wow.

Total points scored: 22. Pitt wins, 13-9.

No tie breaker needed, but Pat had 52 yards rushing.

Guess this is why they play the game, huh? I'm 20 miles away and I can hear a pin drop in Morgantown.

Thanks to all for playing (better than my Mountaineers)!

edit: to correct some self-inflicted coinfusion.

Uh-oh. My mistake. I scrolled right past your post. Sorry to both, but LadyBee4T is correct. I appreciate the catch and apologize. Shoot me your mailing address.
