jholly
Do you just keep them or trade them? Or just leave them there? Jim Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Some cachers leave them for the cache owner. However, I think for the most part they should be viewed as simply another trade item in the cache. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Up to you. Some people collect them. Quote Link to comment
crawil
We have a collection of cool ones that we've traded for. Most are not worth it and we leave them behind. Quote Link to comment
+Thrak
Mine is just to say "I was here" and if anybody wants to take it then it's a freebie - no trade required. That's how many of them are. It seems that many (most?) cache owners rarely ever visit their caches after placement unless there is a problem with the cache. Some don't even visit then! Leaving the sig item for the cache owner generally means it will sit in the cache forever. I say, if you like, it take. Quote Link to comment
+Barefoot Parrothead
what's a sig item? Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Signature Item. Some trade item used to uniquely identify a cacher - a sort of trademark. Usually includes the cachers user name. For Example - I leave one of my golf pencils in all caches that will hold one. Quote Link to comment

+WRASTRO
We collected a few over the years and finally decided to make a cache called "What's your sign?" which we stocked with the signature items. Quote Link to comment

Do what is most comfortable for you. ~.~Scare Force One I think if I found a cache and someone's sig item was in it, that would be the item I would choose. I am already trying to find a sig item for myself. What I have in mind are wooden, tiny parrots and/or tiny bare feet. Whatdoyathink? Quote Link to comment

That sounds neat. I am already planning my first cache but I will wait until I have found a few before I actually make one. Is it ok etiquette for me to ask about a cache idea? Quote Link to comment

+wv-yen
My sig item is a glow in the dark star with wv-yen on it. I leave one in all the caches I visit. (micros get a g-i-t-d star sticker.) In the caches I own, I collect all the sig items I get when I visit the caches. I also collect sig items (like Snoogan's puzzle) when I meet a cacher in person. If the cache owner is into that, I hope s/he keeps the star. If someone else likes it well enough to take it, that's ok too, but I hope to meet them sometime. To hear someone say "OH, yea, I've got one of yur signature stars" would be really cool. In the mean time other cachers know I've been there. Quote Link to comment
+Blaidd-Drwg
I will grab a sig item in a heartbeat if I don't already have one like it. Normally, in all caches that will hold items, I leave one of my sig items. Quote Link to comment
