Help! I've lost my maps.

I have a Garmin Etrex Legend HCx and purchased City Navigator North America 2008 NT and downloaded the states maps to it. It was working fine. I have used it several times since and it worked great. Yesterday, I went to use it and the maps are gone. It's back to only the base map that it came with. :ph34r: I tried changing batteries, restarting, took out the SD card and put it back in. I don't know what else to do. Is there some setting that needs changed? Help!!!!

Double- and triplecheck that the sd card is in place and locked in (does your model have a "click-click' detent when seating the card? I don't know).

then take the card and mount it in a reader and verify the *.img file is there under \garmin

I think the card is not correctly seated.

You might check to see if the CN maps have (accidentally) been turned off.

-->Main Menu

-->Setup

-->Map

-->Menu Button

from here, the bottom option is something like "Turn City Navigator Maps On/Off"

It's worth a look.

My 60Csx had that SD card come loose several times. I had a 2 gig card in it to load the whole USA (1.6 gig). So, I put a drop of elmers glue on the bottom of it (a year ago) and it has not come loose since.

I've checked this and can't find where my City Navigator Maps are listed at all. UGH.

Sounds like you need to do another download. It certainly won't hurt although it will take a while.

I called Garmin and they walked me through it. Said my micro SD card had issues. So he unloaded it and then reloaded it and now it works fine. Thank heavens! Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
