+tangerineman
Google maps takes much, much longer to load in the caches in an area, to zoom in and out, than before the recent upgrade. Is anyone else finding this? I'm using Internet Explorer, and have found Firefox faster, but they're both still very slow, to the point of appearing as though the page has frozen. It's slowest when over an area with a high density of caches, but even with just a few, it opens like it's stuck with molasses. I'm sure I'm missing an obvious adjustment....any thoughts? lewis82
For me too, and for most people, it's way slower than it was. I guess that the new code and the addition of Topo maps make it more CPU intensive... If you have a My Garmin account you can use their Cache Loader to seek caches (woks via google maps too) Quote Link to comment
the three bandits
ys if you do have mygarimn(lik it do now lol ) this works amazingly better then the google maps on geocaching.com thanks Quote Link to comment
+M3J
I've never tried this before but it is certainly quick. The problem is I can't see a way to eliminate caches that I have already done. Makes filtering a lot of work! As an FYI, I emailed Groundspeak and told them how terrible the new Google Maps search is and that we can no longer filter by bookmark either. They told me they are aware of the problems and are working on new code to solve the problems. Should be better soon. Quote Link to comment
+Cowboneneck
Hey S - yes, I find it very slow too. I am on Firefox mostly and definitely find it annoying! C- Quote Link to comment
