Garmin eTrex Legend

I've been using a Garmin eTrex Legend do to some geocaching. It seems to be very accurate to within 15ft and I havent had any troubles with it at all. One thing I have noticed however is that when looking at the map there is a circle around the pointer. Before last weekend it didn't have that circle around the pointer. Also, when looking at the map the pointer doesnt seem to be as centered on the roads as it had been before this weekend. I really cant think of any changes in settings I made. Any ideas on how to correct these? Thanks.

That's just the nature of the beast. The circle is a representation of the accuracy, and I think it has to do with the map you're using, too (anyone feel free to clarify this). The reported accuracy and the circle are related, but not correlated 1:1; i.e., sometimes you'll get a bigger circle than others, for the same reported accuracy. Given that there are different satellites overhead at different times, and sometimes WAAS works and sometimes it doesn't, you just gotta learn to roll with it. As far as the centering on the roads, you can always turn on "Lock on Road," but then it acts screwy when you're near, but not on, a road (like driving down the alley behind my street).
