Droo Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I have been very upset since I heard the news. I have met Jim and really like him. I won't be able to attend the serivces and so I asked someone to sign the log book for me as LadyBee4T as I will be there in spirit but not in body. I'm not sure if they are going or not though. I then thought that maybe a group of us could send some flowers or a donation to his favorite charity and sign it "your caching family". What do you guys think? Great idea Beverly. I don't mind taking monetary donations through my paypal account for it. I would be happy to contribute as well. Quote

BRoKeN W Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Tomorrow is the last day to get your monetary donations in to help purchase a gift for the family of jAY miLLS (Jim Pitzer). You can send payment to me through paypal (brokenw@gmail.com). Please send the money as "personal" and "money owed" so your full amount can be applied to the gift. Any monies leftover will be used to help fund a memorial coin in jAY miLLS' honor. Quote
BRoKeN W Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Forgot to add: If you send money, please include your geocaching name in the note. Thanks! Quote
Dorsetgal & GeoDog Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) I was sorting through my boxes of spare and duplicate coins this evening, trying to fulfill a mission, and came across one of Jays coins. It was in looking it up, to remind myself of the story behind it, that I came to this thread. I am very sorry to hear of the sad news, RIP jAY miLLS Edited December 1, 2009 by Dorsetgal & GeoDog Quote

LadyBee4T Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Any interest in doing a memorial version of this coin? Several of us are working on it and have a good idea of one side. We planned to wait a bit until the holidays are over..... Quote
kini_ont Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Any interest in doing a memorial version of this coin? Are you asking the general coiner? Yes, been trying to get one of these since I started collecting (which is not that long ago and these are hard to get, now harder unfortunately) Quote
