+supertbone
Can a CITO event involve performing tasks such as clearing brush or similar types of public service or does it just have to be picking up litter? I am working to setup a CITO event in conjunction with the Ridge Route Preservation Org. and the US Forest Service. The area to be work on is along a stretch of early 1900's highway called the Ridge Route. This was the first highway that linked Los Angeles with the rest of the California (Click here). The area is bone dry and the brush causes two problems, first it is a major fire hazard, second the brush clogs culverts which causes flooding and erosion of the historic highway. The preservation group holds work days to clear brush along the route periodically, I figure a CITO would draw in more people to help the cause. Keystone
Remember that a CITO Event must be organized by geocachers, for geocachers. You cannot list the preservation group's regular cleanup event as a CITO Event. There are ways around this limitation, and I would encourage you to work with your local reviewer if this is what you had in mind. Quote Link to comment
