NGS Surveyor
Nice animation. Here is a link to an animation showing the expansion of the USC&GS/NGS national survey network: http://celebrating200years.noaa.gov/founda...ey_network.html GEL Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
Well as a Volunteer for both the BLM and the NGS I have to say they are both great animations. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+Rumpled
Where was the geocacher/BMer showing up with his GPS and recording his log? Quote Link to comment
+Klemmer
Out here in sunny CA, there would be 50 houses, a 12 lane freeway, 6 earthquakes, and brushfires (after tree hit by lightning). Quote Link to comment
Bill93
>Where was the geocacher/BMer showing up with his GPS and recording his log? This was a land corner, not a geodetic marker, so there would be no data sheet to bring him here. Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
Maybe not a data sheet but a Topo map and a GPS led him there. This is so close to what is happening with me it is ironic. I love it. Now there are some of those Initial Points of the PLSS that do have data sheets. And the one for our area is one of those. Quote Link to comment
