+geoSpartan
The new Google Maps (on geocaching.com) don't appear to be the same maps on maps.google.com. The maps on maps.google.com seem to be more up to date then the ones here and I was just wondering if they're going to be updated or anything? I love the new maps and I don't mean this as a complaint or rate, just a question. Link to comment
+klossner
I get the opposite result. I find that the Google map behind the geocaching map has more information than the one at maps.google.com. For example, the cache map includes a park. It's a mystery to me why Google would maintain more than one version of the map. Link to comment
robertlipe
Tiles and vector layers served by API sites (like the one on Groundspeak) and served by maps.google.com are frequently of different vintage. Sometimes newer, sometimes older. There have been posts in the developer forums that explain it in agonizing detail, but there are a variety of reasons for the differences including license/redistibution differences. Link to comment
Archangel_UK
Google maps arent up to date . they can be nearly 2 years out in places . By me there is big road scheme which is just over 18 months in progress with no sign on google maps Link to comment
+Prime Suspect
You'd be hard-pressed to find any map that isn't out of date, in one respect or another. Link to comment
+FamilyDNA
My street (a new neighborhood) appears on the Geocaching google maps, but not yet on the regular google maps. Link to comment
