+gbmcache
In creating a cache I would like to format the data in the Short Description and Long Description areas. All I can do now is enter typed data without the ability to control the font or color. I would like to have a nice looking cache, and readable, page. Quote Link to comment

You can use HTML in the short and long description areas to format your page. DCC Quote Link to comment
+Too Tall John
If you are familiar with HTML, you can just click the little box above the fields to enter the short/long descriptions on a "Report a Cache" page. Then, just put in your HTML code. If you don't know anything about HTML, you can probably google enough info to make it work anyways. There are certain things you can't do, but an awful lot that you can. Have fun with it. Quote Link to comment
+Sequoia_2
I make my pages at Village Photos You can create pages in html code with color and pictures then just copy and paste the code into your description box. usually only works in the long description, as the short doesnt' allow you too many characters. lewis82
Five hundred exactly. So if you add HTML stuff, you won't have enough place to write lots of stuff (especially in french, because é, è, and ê are replaced with é è ê). But short description is useless. Leave it blank. Just write it in the long. Quote Link to comment
+Rattlebars
Do a Google search on "Free HTML Editor" or (click here). There are a number of them. If you have Microsoft Front Page you can use that then go to the HTML tab and copy and paste. There are many tutorials on the web too, but hand coding is really typing intensive. But, you should be aware if you use some of the more decorative fonts, you Reader may not have that font on his/her computer. Quote Link to comment

Unless you can do DHTML in notepad with your eyes closed. =) I actually hand code most of my stuff ( see our store ). All of my cache pages are hand coded. Sometimes I'll use FrontPage for the basic stuff, but hand code the rest. Sometime last year, they began to strip out <style> and most <script> from the listing. Before that I always made a custom cursor ( GCP6TT ), but can't do it anymore. They still let you do an alert box tho ( GC11Y22 ).... However, I do keep my eyes open when typing and I use UltraEdit! +Driver Carries Cache
HTML is neither difficult or typing intensive. If you know nothing about HTML, this is where to start. Oh yes, and FrontPage is a tool of Satan. DCC (who slings code for a living) www.madmike.com Quote Link to comment
+Isonzo Karst
There's enough html here to do most of what a cache owner wants on a listing. And it's aimed at that: http://nozen.com/geo/html.htm Quote Link to comment
