Premium Membership

I purchased a Premium Membership to Geocaching.com on Friday, 11/03. I have my debit card receipt and everything. How long does it generally take for the membership to be approved/ processed/ whatever-ya-call-it?? Is it an approval process? Do I have to learn a secret handshake and prepare for an induction ceremony involving blood or spit? ;)

I think that you should get an email with a "code" that you have to put into a box on geocaching.com. That doesn't help very much, but I think that a link is provided in the email to the box I'm talking about. If not, I don't know the link, but you could probably find it pretty easily.

Seriously, though, I don't remember too clearly how soon it happened, but you should get an email soon, maybe already did, telling you what to do next.

I became a premium member yesterday afternoon and recieved my "key" within about 10 minutes. FWIW I went through PayPal.

I never got knocks.

 

No nets.

 

No tasers.

 

No abductions from creatures with big eyes who made me turn my head and cough.

 

Nothing.

 

My first indication that I had become a premium member was the aura that surrounded me. Then, the next weekend, I found caches with 95% more efficiency.

 

Premium membership is not something you do, but rather something you are. :D

If you didn't use PayPal (where activation is nearly instantaneous), your premium membership must be processed manually by Groundspeak's customer service staff. They work Monday through Friday, so if you paid last Friday, activation on Tuesday is actually pretty speedy.
