+WVRadar
I released my first coin into the wild and it was moved today. I noticed that the distance traveled did not update until I hit the Recalculate distance option on the coin's page. Do I have to do this every time it moves to update the mileage? +ScoutingWV
I've found that sometimes I need to and sometimes I don't. Not sure what actually triggers the recalc in the database. Good to see another West Virginian in here, too! Quote Link to comment
+dflye
From watching a bunch of trackables over time, they usually seem to automatically recalculate mileage in the middle of the night (EST, your mileage may vary in other time zones! ) This holds true for the majority of TBs I've watched, and the ones that don't update usually seem to get stuck that way for days on end. +Bhob
GC.com used to update the mileage on trackable items at the time that you made your log entry Something over a year ago, they decided that was too much of a load on their computer, and started doing the updates in batches during off-peak times My general sense of the timing on this is about every two weeks The owner of the trackable item is allowed to ask for the mileage to be updated (via an additional clickable on the trackable item page) If the owner does this, then the updated information is visible to all If the owner does not do the update, the rest of us must wait for the item in question to get it's turn in the batch cycle Quote Link to comment
