+just me lpg Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I'm a newbie to geocaching and after doing some research on gps units I decided to buy a Garmin 60CSX. The pricing on these units is all over the place and mostly on the high end. I found a great deal online today at www.electronicsshowplace.com. $299.50 with $7.25 shipping for 3 - 5 day ground. Garmin also has a $50.00 rebate going which is good until December 31, 2007. That will bring the price I paid to $249.50!!! The only other places I found with pricing that low were offering imported units without the warranty. The best part (besides the price) is that if you order before 4:00pm EST, it will ship the same day. I got my shipping notification while I was typing this. I promise I'm not any kind of shill for the website; I just wanted to alert other geocachers who might be interested in a 60csx but have been put off by the price, to the great deal I found. This is my 1st forum post I hope this kind of posting is allowed. :-) If not, I'm sure I'll hear about it. ghostrain Quote

Couldn't find any negative reviews on them. Let us know how it turns out. Quote
gallet Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 I bought one on ebay a couple of weeks ago for $290. From a very reliable seller. I don't get the rebate though as I'm not in the USofA Quote

Still, the price you paid is reasonable for that particular model should that be what you intended to purchase. http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/60series Quote
gallet Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 It says on the rebate form that units purchased from online auctions are not eligible. Just an FYI for those of you shopping. Yes I had already investigated that when I was enquiring if I could get the rebate outside of the USofA. However the big ebay sellers who do these at knock down prices also have real shops and are indeed able to give the certificate for the rebate. Quote
+scuba dude Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I just bought a 60csx for less than $299 (after rebate) from BassPro. Stopped in just to look and fondle, and ended up buying one. They had them "on sale" for 350, then there is the 50 rebate. PLus I signed up for thier store credit card and got another 10% off the price of the unit, power adapter and softwear. So the cost of the 60csx ended up being $265 plus tax. Plus I got to take it home instead of waiting on shipping from an online dealer. Quote
+LeonW Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 @ scuba dude, a great unit, you will not regret it. Get a 2 gig microSD card and you are set. Congratulations. Quote
