+Bear and Ragged Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Saw it a while ago, downloaded and had a play... Doesn't do anything I can't already do with other applications. G Quote
+Bambography Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I'm a Mac user however use my partners PC for cache related working. Infact I just got a free laptop from a friend to do so. Couldn't get my Legend to connect to the mac so went with PC. With GSAK, Memory Map, Map Source all on the PC it was too limiting to stay on the mac. Wouldn't swap it for a PC full time though!!!! +The Bolas Heathens Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I'm a Mac user but after trying the Mac related caching software, I opted to put XP under Parallels on my MacBook and use GSAK, Memory Map etc etc from there. Works flawlessly and is as fast as any PC I've seen, with the added advantage that I don't have to boot into Windows (GSAK etc just runs in a OS X window like any Mac app). MacCaching is ok, another interesting one which has a few more features is GeoJournal. If the latter had a few more filtering options and an ability to colour code finds etc etc then it would do most of what I use GSAK for. As regards the Mac and caching in general, it works perfectly with our 60CSx and integrates well with Palm PDA's. It struggles with Windows Mobile devices but there is some software you can use to talk to PPC devices from Mac's. Our main gripe was the lack of any Mac based OS mapping software such as Memory Map. Hope this helps. Quote
+Bear and Ragged Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 It struggles with Windows Mobile devices. I use a Pocket PC, use a card reader to copy over the GPX file to the storage card -no problem! Must admit to having to use a PC to install the applications to the PPC though... G Quote
