+uminski
Greetings, I just was the FTF for the cache Artesia Lake by 2Dee2Dee (GC16XMA). The cache is 2,350 miles from home. Left New Joysee this morning, took two planes, to Phoenix and Reno and a rental car drive for 2 hours. Only 16 hour trip. Its the furthest distance I ever went for an Earth Cache. +LewisClan77
That is pretty cool...2dee2dee are from my area and I was FTF on their other Earthcache...I didn't need a plane ride though Quote Link to comment
+Great Scott!
I FTF'd this cache, GCHZPH, 2453 miles from home, and over two years after it was placed! Quote Link to comment
+OzGuff
I was co-FTF on a cache 9,144 miles from my home coordinates in North Carolina! I was visiting relatives in Australia and my brother-in-law and I went out to find a new cache. OK, so he actually found it first but it was still a long way to go for an FTF attempt! +Trucker Lee
You folks have got to be sure to include the distance traveled on your profiles. This is too funny! Quote Link to comment
+Team_CSG
...so much for a low carbon footprint Quote Link to comment
+IAOhana
Makes my first FTF from this morning seem like child's play! Quote Link to comment
+FunnyNose
GCRMJG 7434.5mi from home. To beat someone who came from the opposite way from Europe by a day. Quote Link to comment
+IANNA
Am I reading this right you went the 2500 miles with sole purpose of being the FTF on this cache.....or were you there for some other reason and just happened to find this cache while there? I think I need what ever job you folks have to just be able to up and fly 2000+ miles at a wim to get a cache. Quote Link to comment

Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to find out the answer! TKOFaith Quote Link to comment
+Great Scott!
For my 2500 mile FTF, I used to live in California and go back 3 or 4 times a year to see my girlfriend. The cache was unfound when I was still living there. On one of my trips, I set aside one day to tackle the cache. Quote Link to comment
+sTeamTraen
I had 2 FTFs more than 10,000 miles from my home (France to Australia) in August... only to discover that at least one cacher has a bigger distance (UK to New Zealand). Quote Link to comment
+NYPaddleCacher
GCRMJG 7434.5mi from home. To beat someone who came from the opposite way from Europe by a day. In a couple of weeks I'll be in Zambia for a week for business. There are a three caches within 5 miles of where I will be staying (the next closest is over 80 miles away) and one of them has yet to be found (it was published in July. If I can get across the border from Zambia to Zimbabwe and get "Paper Covers Rock" (and it hasn't been logged in the cache, but not online) I'll get a FTF on a cache that is just a bit over 7650 miles from my home location. Decoski
Please don't tell me that you folks spend hundreds of dollars on a plane ticket and rental car and take time off of work solely to be the first to find a hidden tupperware container. Quote Link to comment
+BBWolf+3Pigs
7,999 miles to Gaum's 1stCoastie Cache. I was out there for work, and the cache had gone unfound for about 3 weeks. I had the time, so I went out with a co-worker. The clean logbook was super sweet! Quote Link to comment
+uminski
Greetings, Yes, the 2350 mile trip just happened to be on the way to a project for work. Thanks to the US EPA for paying my way. Regards Uminski Quote Link to comment

It is also helpful to know some of the local language, While hunting my FTF in Thailand I went into a cave with a Cobra. Watch out for snakes !! Quote Link to comment
+Gecko Cacher
I'm heading to Argentina for the F3A World Championships (R/C Precision Aerobatics) this weekend and there are a bunch of caches there that haven't been found yet. It could be a great couple of weeks to get FTF's and besides......it's summer down there now Quote Link to comment
+RoyalRed
I scored a FTF on a multicache outside of Lodz, Poland called Radegast (GCVJVG) 4312 miles from my location. Was in Poland on business and saw this one prior to leaving so set aside some time to try and get it. Turned out to be a loading station for the shipment of Jews to concentration camps during WWII. Pretty harsh. Quote Link to comment
+Rattlebars
I stumbled upon one 946.5mi from home in sunny Florida. It was a treat to get FTF so far from home almost by accident! Not quite 8K but a treat for me! Dick's alligator GC12J6K Quote Link to comment
