TochiHunt Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Automatically generate links for Waypoint Names found in cache descriptions or logs. A simple regexp for GCXXXXX and replace it with the standard link to: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCXXXXX So now, I can just click on the waypoint name. Simple enough. Not sure if someone has already raised this idea (or maybe it's there for Premium members already), but this feature will definitely be very useful for me. -TochiHunt
Markwell Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 How about this: [GCCODE=GCXXX]Cache Name[/GCCODE] Here it is in practice: Toy Stash
robert Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 How about this: [GCCODE=GCXXX]Cache Name[/GCCODE] Here it is in practice: Toy Stash I tried it on a sample cache and it didn't work. Works in the forums like you showed, but the OP was asking about using it on cache logs/descriptions: Automatically generate links for Waypoint Names found in cache descriptions or logs.
TochiHunt Posted October 23, 2007 Author Posted October 23, 2007 Thanks Robert. An example would be: Movie Mania - North In the cache description, you'll see in blue: If you enjoyed this cache, try doing Movie Mania - East (GCRTKJ) and West (GCRTQ2) (and, coming soon to a hidden location near you, Movie Mania - South - the hardest yet!!!!). It would be nice if GCRTKJ and GCRTQ2 were turned into appropriate links. -TochiHunt
Mach2003 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 The cache owner can link the codes if (s)he wants to. Let them decide.
