Team Misguided Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 This seems more appropriate for the Travel Bug forum. Quote
+Belleterre Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Pink Lady has traveled just under 26,000 miles. She was turned loose 5.5 years ago in honor of my Grandmother on her 102nd birthday. The TB's original goal was to visit Grandmother's birthplace near Berlin where she was given a guided tour. Since then, she has traveled extensively in Europe and South Africa. She is also the oldest original TB I still have out there. Jeremy the GeoPuppet has traveled a little over 14,000 miles in 5.5 years, but he's on his 3rd reincarnation. Quote
+BBWolf+3Pigs Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 (edited) "1492" has circumnavigated the globe (and then some!) going almost exclusively in a westerly direction. (edited for grammar) Edited October 18, 2007 by BBWolf+3Pigs Quote
+homer-dog Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 My second TB, Polar Explorer, has gone 10,325.1 miles in just over three months! It took only 6 hops to make it from Stillwater, MN to Okinawa, Japan! Quote
+Psyop Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Semper Peragro II, AKA Church on Time has logged 40132 miles. The cacher holding the TB at the moment is supposed to be able to get him very close to his goal. I am a bit nervous as this is a new cacher and has not logged in for a few weeks. So close and yet so far! Quote
Azatin Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 In the log area my travel bug is not logging its miles traveled. What do I need to do so it will track its miles traveled? This is my first travel bug I set out. Thanks Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 (edited) In the log area my travel bug is not logging its miles traveled. What do I need to do so it will track its miles traveled? This is my first travel bug I set out. Thanks Do you mean the travel bug you own? It'll track mileage from cache to cache. Looking at the placed logs it's only been to two caches and that mileage is showing on the bug page. The mileage will show on the second placement log. Edited October 30, 2007 by BlueDeuce Quote
+Team Snorkasaurus Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 (edited) The Black Devil Ducky TB has currently logged 73,471.2 miles in his quest for Derby Racer dominance and he is still going strong! I suspect the he will pass the 100,000 mile mark if he remains in the capable hands of Emandel, his current TB host. Race on, awesome little quacker!!! +foundbutlost Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 (edited) Not sure if this counts, this is a personnel TB Curious George (TBZETD) with 88,207 miles since 18 April 2006. I started caching because I got tried of sitting in hotel rooms. Cheers Edited November 4, 2007 by foundbutlost Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Thanks Bluedeuce Sure thing. I thought it should have worked regardless. Now we both know. Quote
+GeoCRAt Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Amy's Travel Bug has done over 30,000 miles. This coin has done over 15,000 miles in 6 months. Bye from Dubai. Quote
+TheLegoFool&Missus Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 My Yoda TB has gone 3980.3mi in 6 caches. But my PQ Geocoin #2 has travelled the furthest with 7728.5mi Quote
+joranda Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I had one heading to Alaska that was going thru Canada that got picked up by a cacher and has been held by him for over a year. Once it hit Canada I thought that it was going to make its mission. Guess I was wrong. Quote

So close and yet so far! Looks like the curse of the new cacher has struck again. The individual holding this TB set up his account in September, logged in twice, and has not visited the site since 10 November. Bit ironic as 10 November is the Marine Corp's birthday, and this is a Marine theme TB. I am still holding out hope, but my expectations are currently low. Semper Peragro, AKA Church on Time Quote
+fairyhoney Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 If you accidentally push the "recalculate mileage" does that wipe out all of the mileage its traveled? Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 If you accidentally push the "recalculate mileage" does that wipe out all of the mileage its traveled? Nope, it's supposed to tally-up any missing mileage or make it current. Something like that. Quote

+anakerose Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I have a Vacation Bug that started in Penticton, BC and is now in New Brunswick. We can't afford a worldwide vacation, so we're living through the bug and the pictures people post. Quote
+UncleJimbo Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I am amazed at my 4th TB: Andover, MA, Travel Bug. It has traveled from Andover, MA, to Bangkok, Thailand (9224 miles), and is on its way to Japan, all in a little over a month. At this rate it might circumnavigate the globe in only a few months. You never know with TBs. Quote
CacheNCarryMA Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 22,522 miles . Send your TBs Down Under. It really piles on the miles and Aussies and Kiwis take good care of them. Quote

That is amazing longevity for a lobster-themed TB. I have observed many lobster TBs go missing in my relatively short time geocaching. Quote
