+Viajero Perdido Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I haven't seen this before. On the search results page (eg, nearest caches, PQ preview, etc.), I see a handful of caches with "Today" in the Last Found column. That catches my eye because it's only 9:30AM local time (Mountain); somebody must be up really early. But no, when I look at the cache page, I see the last find was not today but yesterday. This is happening consistently with the newer version of GC.com (the "verbose title" edition).
+SquamLoon Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 (edited) Stopped by to report the same thing. Evidently the GC clock needs to be changed? I haven't seen this before. I wonder whose idea it was that we needed all that unnecessary information in the title . . . I also noticed this for a couple of my caches that were found yesterday but in the PQ Preview it says "Today."
+SquamLoon Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 (edited) So I'm wondering if it's just me, or if everyone's still having this problem. Again, the issue: where I live, at least, the search results on the Geocaching.com "Seek Geocache" page are giving the wrong date. The caches found Yesterday say they were found Today. Is there another discussion of this somewhere that I just haven't seen? The issue's been going on for quite some time now. Edited October 27, 2007 by SquamLoon
+HB-vanislelady Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Looks like this problem is everywhere.....here in the PST Zone too......Still happening and has been happening for awhile
+Huntcliff Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I posted a topic on this the other day and no one answered so I let it slide. It seems the GC system clock is off.... http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=176407
+Chaotica_UK Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I know we are a few hours ahead overe here but cache logs from Friday (26th) are still showing as yesterday?
+The First Noel Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I believe that this issue is currently being worked on the GC tech team. I emailed them about the profile calendar being out of sorts and they emailed back the following... Hello, Thank you for writing us. At this time, this feature does have some bugs and we are aware of them. Our development team is looking into it. In the meantime, you may wish to consult our forums. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showforum=8 Groundspeak, Inc.
+HaLiJuSaPa Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I have seen this problem for awhile. It seems that it "fixes itself" around 3pm here every day, which means it is noon at the Lily Pad. Maybe it's as simple as their servers mixing up AM and PM?
+jimbat Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 It looks like the site is running a day behind. Caches that were found yesterday are showing up as being found today and caches found 2 days ago are showing up as being found yesterday. Who can I report this problem to.
+briansnat Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Not a getting started issue. Moving to the website forum.
Moun10Bike Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I've merged duplicate topics into this one.
+jimbat Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Is this going to be fixed. How hard could it be to fix the time. maybe during the next leap year it might fix it self.
+Mudfrog Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Haven't looked today to see what's going on but i know that the time seemed to be off by 12 hours. Saying this because i have witnessed a cache's "last found" status change from "today" to "yesterday" when the clock struck 1200 hours pacific time. You would think this was a simple thing to fix but this issue has gone unresolved for awhile now. I know this is crazy thinking but it almost makes me want to think that Magellan has bought out Groundspeak or something?
+bill21 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I live in the cst zone and the site doesnt change over to the next day until 2 oclock pm also no new caches come out until that time
OpinioNate Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Thanks everyone. This has been a known bug for some time and is just waiting its turn to be fixed. Sorry for the confusion in the meantime.
+Zop Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Do you suppose this is why external stats sites like http://boulter.com/geocaching/leaders/ and http://www.cacherstats.com/ are not updating anymore?

+Huntcliff Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Bump - Can we PLEASE get this fixed, or can you provide aqn update? - it can't be that difficult!! It's been over a month. The system clock is 12 hours off and it is annoying.!
OpinioNate Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Sorry, nothing new to report. I will let you all know when this has been fixed.
+mousekakat Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 OOH... someone feed the hamsters or something, cuz this simple little thing is just driving me nuts! AAARGH!! Naomi
+DeRock & The Psychic Cacher Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 (edited) I think I know why Yesterday is Today! I'll bet Signal crossed backwards through the International Date Line and messed with the time flux. Nate is waiting for him to come back. It's going to be a while though, Signal has dad's credit card and two dancing girls (not dad's). Jeremy just shakes his head and says, "What's a parent to do?" Or sometimes he just gives a sly smile and says, "Boys will be boys!" Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of getting Signal back into real time. And just hope he and the girls don't cross back over to one of the other beautiful islands for a days stay thereby temporarily restoring sanity to the time continuum only to have it revert later. +trainlove Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 I really hate it when a NEW cache that's published TODAY shows up as having been found YESTERDAY. Boy those FTF hunters in Massachusetts must have time machines.

+wesleykey Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Same problem here. Caches found yesterday show as having been found "today". Please fix.
